Description
A faculty member in the Department of Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies is seeking a Part-time Assistant Research Scholar to assist with a project focusing on facets of World's Fair of 1939 organized in New York City and will involve using online and in-person archives and libraries (e.g. NYPL). The project will begin as early as January. The exact number of hours per week and timing are somewhat flexible, with total compensation being at least $1,000.00.
In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the base hourly range for this position is $26hr. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.
Qualifications
- Archival research
- Digitization of archival findings
- Classification of digitized materials
Application Instructions
- Doctoral degree in field related to the Middle East;
- Prior knowledge on the New York World Fair of 1939 and history of World’s Fairs in general;
- Knowledge of major Middle Eastern Language;
- Experience in Archival research.
