Description

NYU Shanghai is currently inviting applications for three open-rank positions (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor of Practice) in business-related disciplines, with an anticipated start date of September 1, 2026. We are seeking candidates for the following three positions:

Position 1: Marketing, Data Analytics, and AI for Business

The successful candidate will teach courses in the graduate program in Marketing and Retail Science, lead the capstone project of the graduate program in Management of Technology, and potentially teach courses in statistics and other areas. The position emphasizes excellence in teaching and curriculum development at the intersection of marketing, data analytics, and artificial intelligence applications in business.

Position 2: Organizational Behavior and Leadership

The successful candidate will teach courses in the graduate program in Organization, Management and Strategy, as well as the graduate program in Management of Technology. The candidate may also teach related courses at both the undergraduate or graduate level. We seek candidates with expertise in organizational behavior, leadership, organizational theory, or related fields.

Position 3: Finance

The successful candidate will teach both graduate and undergraduate finance courses. The candidate is also expected to be able to teach Economics of Global Business at undergraduate level. We seek candidates with broad expertise in finance and a strong ability to connect financial theory with real-life global business practice.

These are Full-Time Continuing Contract Faculty (FTCC) positions. Candidates must have completed a Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree by the time of appointment in September 2026. Typical appointments are on 2-year terms, with expected teaching loads of 4 courses per academic year.

Terms of employment at NYU Shanghai are comparable to NYU New York and other U.S. institutions.

Qualifications

We seek candidates who have completed a Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in a relevant discipline. For Position 1, preferred fields include Marketing, Business Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, or Computer Science, with expertise in AI for customer insights, marketing analytics, data-driven decision making, applied statistics, or technology management. For Position 2, preferred fields include Organizational Behavior, Management, Leadership, or a closely related discipline, with expertise in organizational theory, strategic management, or leadership studies. For Position 3, preferred fields include Finance, Economics, or a closely related discipline, with expertise in corporate finance, financial markets, global business economics, or related areas. For all positions, candidates should demonstrate a strong record in English-teaching and real-life practice, and a commitment to innovative pedagogy.
