Role Description
We are seeking an experienced Strategist to lead investment strategy and client engagement efforts in Hong Kong. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in investment management, private banking, or asset management, with a deep understanding of macroeconomic trends and their impact on investment portfolios. This role requires strong Mandarin language skills (both written and spoken) and excellent public speaking abilities.
The successful candidate will work closely with capital markets teams, relationship managers, and investment advisers to enhance client engagement, drive investment pitches, and lead client-facing activities.
Responsibilities
- Investment Strategy & Thought Leadership
- Analyze global and regional macroeconomic trends and translate insights into actionable investment strategies.
- Develop and articulate investment views, portfolio positioning, and market outlooks for both internal stakeholders and clients.
- Provide strategic guidance on asset allocation and portfolio construction in response to changing market conditions.
- Client Engagement & Business Development
- Work closely with relationship managers and investment advisers to support client pitches and deliver compelling investment narratives.
- Participate in key client meetings, providing tailored investment insights and portfolio solutions.
- Design and execute focused sales strategies to drive investment adoption.
- Lead and contribute to high-impact client events, investment forums, and thought leadership sessions.
- Collaboration & Internal Partnerships
- Partner with capital markets teams to align investment views with trading and advisory strategies.
- Work cross-functionally with product specialists, research teams, and wealth management professionals to deliver cohesive investment recommendations.
- Support internal training efforts, equipping frontline teams with the latest market insights and investment themes.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of experience in private banking, asset management, or a related investment role.
- Investment Expertise: Proven track record in managing investments and formulating investment strategies.
- Market & Macro Awareness: Strong ability to interpret and explain macroeconomic changes and their impact on portfolios.
- Communication & Public Speaking: Excellent written and spoken Mandarin and English, with strong public speaking skills and experience in media or client presentations.
- Client-Facing Experience: Comfortable engaging with UHNW and institutional clients, delivering complex investment ideas in a clear and persuasive manner.
- Collaboration Skills: Ability to work closely with capital markets teams, relationship managers, and investment advisers to enhance client solutions.
