Department Overview
The Legal team is a strategic partner to the business areas, maintaining client-lawyer relationships through mutual trust and respect without compromising independence.
Role Overview:
The successful candidate will work as an assistant within Transaction Legal and will provide support to the Global Markets Legal and IBD Legal teams including:
- Extensive data entry (logging of all debt capital market trades)
- Creating legal matters
- Maintaining and updating internal logs
- Diary management
- Collating Monthly Information for Global Markets Legal
- Assisting with documentation management and document execution
- Archiving legal documents and record keeping
- Coordinating meetings, including room booking and VC arrangement
- Processing invoices, payments and approvals
- Printing and scanning (including confidential materials)
- Preparation of papers ahead of meetings
- Travel arrangements and expenses claims
- Onboarding new vendors
- I.T queries – raising IAC/Sprite requests/general issues
- Answering phones and relaying messages to the team
- Arranging couriers Booking rooms using the internal online system
- Ad-hoc administrative duties and project work, including the preparation of PowerPoint presentations

- Ability to work accurately and under pressure, whilst remaining calm and composed
- Awareness of confidentiality issues when working in a legal environment
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Must be willing to assist the team as required
- Must be able to use initiative, prioritise own work and meet deadlines
Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required:
The successful candidate should have:
- Willingness to work in a trading floor/banking environment with regular interaction with internal clients
- Strong organisational skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Excellent administration and prioritisation skills
- Ability to multi-task effectively and to work on own initiative
- Enthusiasm and ability to work as a team player with good interpersonal skills
- Excellent IT skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
