Division Overview:

Global Markets Division: Based in Mumbai, the front-office team which works on a team extension model delivers pricing, modelling and risk management expertise to the Global Markets business. Founded as a centre of excellence, the group leads the way in price discovery and portfolio optimization techniques and is integral to the business’ aggressive revenue targets. The team is playing an integral role in structuring, pricing, risk management and new idea generation.

Business Unit Overview: The Financial Resources management team within GM will be responsible for helping wholesale business management and CFO to analyse and optimise allocation of various financial resources across Nomura wholesale business. The team would cover all financial resources including and not limited to RWA (Market, Credit and Operational), BS, Leverage Ratio, NSFR, UF, MCO Charges, Client Return on Resources etc.

Role & Responsibilities:

Work with risk and finance function for seamless sourcing of various financial resources information at granular level (as available).

Ensure full understanding of how different resource metrics are computed (Leverage, RWA, NSFR, UF, et al), with focus on Leverage Ratio – On/Off Balance Sheet Exposures and overtime vet the data for accuracy / data quality (in conjunction with risk and finance)

Understand and document key drivers of each financial resource in terms of business area / product.

Develop return metrics for each financial resource with a view on riskiness / liquidity of WS portfolio.

Identify opportunities to creatively optimize resource consumption.

Identify opportunities to optimize deployment of resources across various parts of GM business.

Develop scorecards / dashboards that help WS management in identifying best areas to deploy additional resources

Develop ability to estimate available resource capacity while assessing new business opportunities

  • The person need to have understanding of current Leverage ratio & other capital calculation methodologies.
  • Strong analytical skills to work on large data along with being organized, detail oriented, good follow up skills.
  • The person should have good communication skill as the job will involve interaction with Finance and Risk
  • Knowledge of FRTB working will be preferred but it is not a deal breaker

Langugage Capability

  • English at Business level

Technical

  • Should be a power user of Excel spreadsheets with strong analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of Python, VBA and dashboarding tools like Power BI will be preferred but is not an absolute requirement.
