The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $95,000 and $120,000 annually.

Department Overview

The WDOT (Wholesale Data & Operation Technology) is a global team geographically spread across London, New York, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Singapore, India and Shanghai. The team is responsible for delivering strategic WDOT initiatives that impact core data and real-time applications and platforms, and is responsible for mandatory and strategic project delivery, performing requirements gathering, design, development, testing, project management and governance.

Role Overview:

Market Data Content is the commercial owner for the front-to-back acquisition, data governance and financial management of content data, providing both Market, Index and Reference Data. Market Data Content is a global function with teams based in Japan, Hong Kong, New York, London and Powai. A new opportunity has emerged to support our newly acquired Asset Management business in Philadelphia, expanding our capabilities and market presence in this key financial hub. The main roles within the team include Vendor Managers, Business Analysts, Lifecycle Management and Governance. Working together, we strive to offer the business access to the services they need in both an efficient manner and at the right cost.

  • Build and maintain strategic relationships between business stakeholders and external market data providers
  • Evaluate and make decisive recommendations on market data service requests, ensuring they align with organizational cost objectives and domain strategy
  • Oversee the complete contract lifecycle management using established workflows and systems
  • Spearhead market data transitions, pilot programs, and new implementation projects
  • Drive cost optimization initiatives and provide expert consultation to business units on market data solutions
  • Maintain comprehensive accuracy in the Market Data inventory system (MDM)
  • Conduct thorough vendor payment verification and reconciliation utilizing existing workflow
  • Review and validate month-end financial reporting for new business segments
  • Develop and distribute monthly management information reports for new business stakeholders

Key objectives critical to success:

  1. To understand the business’ requirements and collaborate on market data solution enablement and cost optimisation opportunities (regional)
  2. To identify global opportunities and challenge the cost optimisation of Business Units (global)
  3. To govern the core market data processes that directly impact the Business Units, as the ‘voice’ for Market Data Content
  4. To ensure Business Units are aware of their Market Data risk and obligations, and collaborate on any mitigation efforts

Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required:

Essential

  • A seasoned professional with sufficient knowledge of trade life cycle, markets and products gained through work experience
  • Experience working in an investment bank or broker/dealer environment (experience in Middle Office and/or Operations are welcome)-
    • Buyside experience a plus, but not essential
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills enabling the individual to liaise effectively and share information with Nomura senior management and other key stakeholders throughout the industry.
  • A self motivator who is a fast learner and able to work proactively to identify opportunities for process improvement and/or realising cost save.
  • Must have good analytical skills and a strong attention to detail. The ability to question existing practises/procedures, ensuring efficiency and recognition of streamlining opportunities are all key.
  • A strong sense of customer service and the abilty to prioritise workload and the expectations of internal clients.
  • Work well within an extended team environment (on shore and off shore) and take a keen interest in developing the function
  • Basic Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills required
  • Confidence to represent the department at any relevant internal meetings.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
