Divisional Overview: Global Middle Office (GMO) is a control function focussed on the integrity of key transactional, risk and financial data and reporting. GMO will also perform an Advisory role partnering with the business and management to help deliver the firm-wide strategy. To achieve this GMO will leverage the latest Digital Innovation & Automation (DI&A) opportunities to optimize GMO’s efficiency and operating model. Key Responsibilities include: • Data Management: Providing a complete and validated data set of transactional information, efficiencies in the production and proactive management of these data sets • Control: Provide assurance on accuracy of firms financial statements through daily PL validation, Risk Model inputs, Proactive management of internal inventory and collateral obligations to ensure key liquidity / collateral requirements are optimized • Advisory: Provide business support and oversight on new products/transactions, financial resources, liquidity management and trade bookings. Propose and implement FTB process improvements; institute performance analytics; and help navigate regulatory, industry and account changes Job Title: Corporate Title: Functional Title: Division: Department / Group: Location: Role Overview EMEA – Desk Assistant Analyst Senior Analyst Global Middle Office Finance Powai EMEA Middle Office works closely with the EMEA D1, Syndicate, Convert Trading Desk providing support and maintaining controls in all post trade execution events. The candidate will act as the face-off between the trading desk and other departments as well as drive strategic change, identify and remediate control risks, perform end-to-end flow analysis/process re-engineering, partner with technology to manage system enhancements, and comply with audit and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities: • Demonstrate an understanding of front to back trade flows as well as Risk and P&L. • Liaising with the Front Office and Middle Office teams on day to day controls and issues • Investigation and resolution of position and trade exceptions through daily reconciliations. • Support to the trading desk including trade amendments/cancellations, redemption, Note Issuance etc. • Execution and management of lifecycle events. • Contribute in new business or process change initiatives through collaboration with the team manager. Help drive best practice and perform UAT to ensure a successful rollout of any initiatives. • Be able to contribute toward automation and streamlining of any functions within the MO team. • Build a strong network across multiple departments within the firm such as Trading, Operations, Compliance, Audit, Technology and other areas of Finance. • Maintain oversight of onshore and offshore tasks to ensure timely and accurate completion of team responsibilities. This will involve continuous review of KRI’s and EOD wrap up summaries. • Drive the Finance control agenda for the team. Proactively identify and remediate control gaps. Requirements: • 2-4 years’ experience within a trade support / desk assistance role. • Experience in supporting a derivatives business and knowledge of equity products (i.e. Listed FnO, Stock/ETF, Swaps, OTC Options, Pnote, ELN, Fx products etc.) • Flexible and able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Demonstrating a strong sense of ownership and commitment to delivery. • Able to multi-task and prioritize workload. • Detail oriented and strong focus on efficiency and control • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English • Possesses strong analytical skills and an ability to quickly learn new products and systems; needs to be able to thrive in a constantly changing environment • Team player and able to contribute to team meetings and voice ideas. ▪ Strong Microsoft Office skills particularly in excel. Competence in VBA/macro a plus.
