The Business Relationship Manager will own day-to-day stakeholder relationships across Japan-side business units, translate business needs into actionable technology work, coordinate cross-functional delivery, and ensure projects are executed on time, on scope and within budget. The role requires exceptional Japanese language ability, deep understanding of Japanese corporate culture and formal business practices, strong project management skills, and proven communication and negotiation abilities. | | | | Responsibilities: | - Act as the principal point of contact for Japan-based businesses for platform initiatives, enhancements, incidents, change requests and ensure hypercare is being applied where required.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior business leaders, product owners, operations, compliance, control and risk functions in Japan.
- Gather and translate business requirements into clear, prioritized project scopes and user stories for engineering and product teams (bilingual documentation).
- Drive end-to-end delivery of projects from a Japan perspective: planning, scheduling, resource coordination, risk/issue management, quality assurance, deployment and hypercare.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams across time zones to ensure alignment with Japan business expectation and timely delivery.
- Manage stakeholder communications: project status reports, steering committee updates, executive summaries — in Japanese and English as appropriate.
- Facilitate Japanese-style governance and approvals where required, ensuring formal documentation, sign-offs and change control processes are followed.
- Advocate for Japan business needs within the global tech organization; translate global standards/policies into locally actionable steps.
- Identify process improvements, propose solutions to reduce friction and enhance collaboration between Japan business and Group technology teams.
- Monitor delivery KPIs, assist with budget allocation communications and escalate issues proactively.
- Support vendor management activities for Japan-related contracts and service-level expectations.

登録資格 Requirements | | Requirements: | - Native Japanese speaker; excellent written and spoken English.
- 6+ years’ experience in project or engagement management within financial services technology (banking, asset management, securities or similar).
- Strong understanding of Japanese corporate culture, formal business etiquette, internal approval processes and stakeholder expectations in a large financial institution.
- Proven track record delivering complex, cross-functional technology projects (Agile, or hybrid environments).
- Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills in Japanese and English.
- Solid skills in requirement elicitation, scope management, stakeholder management and risk mitigation.
- Experience producing bilingual project artifacts: requirements, specifications, status reports, executive briefings.
- Comfortable interacting with senior executives and facilitating governance meetings.
- Familiarity with regulatory, risk and compliance considerations in Japanese financial services.
- Proficiency with project collaboration and tracking tools (JIRA/Confluence, MS Project, MS Teams/Zoom, Excel/PowerPoint).
