The CTO function oversees group-wide transformation on strategically important, mission critical projects for the firm. We’re aligned to our key businesses across the group and operate to global standards and governance across our programs. Our purpose is to support Nomura’s business strategy and deliver consistent group-wide transformation based on common operating principles.
Role Overview
Project Manager to join the Settlements Transformation Programme. The Programme will deliver strategic roadmap for Settlements covering both delivery of Technology and Operating Model Target State
Key Responsibilities
- Stakeholder Management - Experience managing C-suite and senior leadership relationships to ensure alignment and support for critical initiatives
- Risk & Issue Management - Proactively identify, escalate, and resolve project risks and issues through structured governance processes
- Budget Management - Monitor and control project budgets, track costs against forecasts, and provide variance analysis to stakeholders
- Resource Capacity Planning - Forecast resource requirements, optimize allocation across projects, and manage capacity constraints
- ROI Analysis - Develop comprehensive business cases with financial modeling and ROI projections to support investment decisions
- Communication - Deliver clear, concise written and verbal communications tailored to diverse audiences, from technical teams to executive leadership
- Documentation & Reporting - Maintain project artifacts including status reports, JIRA tracking, and Confluence documentation to ensure transparency and knowledge retention
- Migration Planning & Execution - Design detailed migration runbooks, orchestrate go-live activities, and implement rollback procedures to minimize business disruption
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Project Manager within an Investment Bank with a focus on complex, large-scale initiatives in global markets space
- Familiarity with GLOSS, BRx, or similar Broadridge solutions (preferred)
- Experience in leading and managing large complex transformation programs across cross-functional projects teams within financial services, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Experience with project management methodologies (e.g. Agile, Waterfall, PMI, Prince 2), tools and best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to manage project metrics, team availability, project changes, project activities, project information, and stakeholder relationships.
- Experience in managing administrative systems, liaising with managers, performing project management, relationship management, driving change, transformation office, and managing conflict.
- Comprehensive understanding of risk management, governance, and compliance practices in the financial services industry.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with complex financial data.
- Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
