Job Description | Job/Group Overview：
Finance Data & Digital Office (FDDO) has been driving initiatives / projects to improve data governance, quality & control framework & digital transformation in Nomura finance area. Under FDDO organization, Japan BDC (Business Data Coordinator) is a global cross-functional role supporting Nomura Finance’s alignment to Data Management Frameworks under BCBS 239 principles for NHI ー Nomura holding entity (standards on data governance, quality, infrastructure and reporting). Overall FDDO closely works with other Nomura functions e.g. Chief Data Office, Risk, Operations, regional Business Data Coordinators, various Project execution teams, IT stakeholders, etc. internally as well as JFSA, EMEA PRA and other auditors externally. | | | Responsibilities：
| - Japan based Senior Manager/Vice President leading Nomura Finance’s alignment to Data Management Frameworks under BCBS 239 principles for NHI ー Nomura Holdings Inc. entity (standards on data governance, quality, infrastructure and reporting)
- Represent Finance in various leadership/accounting executive forums, chair important bi-monthly/monthly working groups with leads/seniors of Chief Data Office, Risk, Operations, regional Business Data Coordinators
- Engage with JFSA for External/Regulatory Audits pertaining to data governance and data quality ー 87 questionnaires, External Fire drills etc.
- Lead Global/Powai BDC functions in Data Quality Issues resolution raised by line functions (Treasury, Financial Control, Regulatory Reporting etc.)
- Interact with KSMM (Key Senior Management Matrices) owners to establish CDA (Critical Data Attribute) driven KDE (Key Data Element) framework, part of EDM (Enterprise Data Model) project
- Work with Japan Finance SMEs (Subject Matter Experts) & Powai/Global BDCs (Business Data Coordinators) to support data artefacts documentation e.g. NHI DSLA (Data Service Level Agreement)
- Curate, review and update necessary policies, procedures and documents to demonstrate compliance and highlight gaps if identified.
- Support Finance BDO (Business Data Officer) in regular Internal or External Audit resolution discussion in Japanese
- Understand data challenges and propose/implement strategic solutions there by strengthen Data Stewardship model for Finance Stewarded data
- Provide SME and/or Project Management support in FDDO/COO projects including Artificial Intelligence (Gen AI/Agentic AI)

Requirements | | Requirements： | | Mandatory: | - Performed BDO (Business Data Officer) or CDO (Chief Data Officer) role in past or present organization for several years
- Hands on experience in setting up Data Management framework or equivalent governance structure
- Proficiency in Enterprise Data model, structures, control & governance framework
- Understanding of Japan accounting & audit standards, best practices
- Excellent communication skills & ability to communicate ideas concisely and clearly to Senior Stakeholders, Executives
- Operating at Executive Director or Vice President level in present organization
- Fluent in Japanese
- Proficient in English
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint
- Basic understanding of Project Management
| | Preferred: | - Internal or External Audit handling experience ー Interaction with JFSA on regulation related / BCBS239 for multiple years
- Experience in handling onshore-offshore support model and cross regional teams
- Familiarities with cutting edge tools such as Big Data, Power BI, Artificial Intelligence etc.
