Your Role:
- The HRBP role will be based in Singapore and will work in a regional HR team of 60. The role will report into Global Head of Global Markets HR and lead a team of HR Business Partners in the AEJ region.
- The role provides senior HR advisory to the Global Markets division, and works very closely with respective function heads, divisional HRBPs, HR Specialist teams and regional regulatory and government bodies to deliver an exceptional level of service to the Nomura business.
- As a pro-active, commercial and results-driven HRBP, the successful candidate will deliver on the objective of working with clients to deliver an exceptional people agenda, resolve and advise on HR issues and implementing best HR practice consistent with Firm policy and with the strategy of the business. The successful candidate must be able to operate in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic HR Leadership: Partner with senior leaders in the Global Markets division to develop and implement HR strategies that align with business goals and drive performance.
- Talent Management: Oversee succession planning, leadership development, and performance management processes in partnership with the Global GM Talent Lead.
- Organizational Development: Work closely with business leaders to design and implement organizational changes that improve efficiency and effectiveness. Facilitate change management initiatives and support cultural transformation.
- Employee Relations: Provide expert guidance on complex employee relations issues, ensuring compliance with local laws and company policies.
- Compensation and Benefits: Collaborate with compensation and benefits teams to develop competitive and equitable programs that align with market trends and support business objectives.
- Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Champion diversity and inclusion initiatives, promoting a culture of equity and respect across the Global Markets division. Foster a positive and inclusive workplace environment.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilise HR analytics to inform and drive strategic decisions. Present insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization, serving as a trusted advisor and influencing decision-making processes.
- Project Management: Lead or participate in HR projects and initiatives that align with business priorities. Ensure timely execution and delivery of project objectives.
- Performance Management: Supporting performance management activity, for example, annual performance reviews, feedback activity and management of underperformance.
- Employee relations cases: including management of investigations, facilitating conversations with respect to conflict/dispute resolution and consequence management.
- Business Relationship Management: Develop and maintain an effective and focused relationship with the client group, providing timely and accurate advice and support on all HR related issues
Requirements:
- Minimum of 10 years experience as an HR professional who is able to operate confidently with senior level clients in a challenging, fast paced environment.
- Minimum of 7 years experience operating as a Senior HR Business Partner within an Investment Bank or financial services firm.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an HR Advisor covering front office portfolio including Global Markets.
- Proven ability and desire to build strong relationships as a trusted advisor to a fast paced and matrixed client group (such as Front Office / Global Markets Divisions).
- Has covered both Hong Kong, Singapore and South East Asia local market with statutory knowledge.
- Practical experience managing employee relations issues and complex compensation structures desirable
- Ability to work independently with excellent communication skills and the ability to frame problems and solutions quickly and concisely.
- Detail-oriented and able to juggle multiple priorities and competing deadlines.
- Effective at building relationships with business leaders and employees and able to accomplish his/her objectives through influence and persuasion.
- A problem-solver, able to think strategically while possessing the knowledge and intelligence to quickly solve day-to-day human resources issues. Should possess the judgment and maturity to balance the interests of the division with the overall goals and values of Nomura.
- A strong people leader and an excellent team player, with collaborative style and mindset.
