Investment Banking Division Overview:

Nomura's Investment Banking department is a leading global player offering a comprehensive range of advisory and capital-raising services to clients. Nomura's Investment Banking team specializes in mergers and acquisitions, equity, and debt capital markets, and restructuring and financing, with a strong track record of success and exceptional service to clients across industries. Responsibilities

  • The role is part of the Healthcare coverage team within Asia ex-Japan Investment Banking (which also works alongside the Consumer & Retail team), focusing on the South East Asia and East Asia (Korea, Taiwan) markets
  • The role supports, and works alongside, a more senior and deeply experienced banker
  • The team is responsible for origination of new business, and execution alongside product teams
  • The emphasis of the team is on origination of Advisory (M&A, early-stage equity raising) business; however also focuses on Financing and Solutions (equity, credit, rates & FX) business where Nomura is particularly strong
  • The role involves preparation of marketing materials, specific sub-sector analysis and presentations, financial modelling and analysis, assisting with deal execution, coordination with the broader AeJ and global Healthcare teams on sector initiatives
  • The role also requires interaction with other internal stakeholders, e.g. working with corporate functions for business approvals, Legal, Compliance and Finance functions
  • Other ad hoc tasks as required

Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience within Investment banking
  • Minimum of 2 years of track record in transactions in sectors such as healthcare, consumer, and retail
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in South East & East Asia M&A deals
  • Strong numerical and financial literacy skills, including financial modelling capability
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • An ability to work well with other team members, irrespective of level of corporate title
  • An entrepreneurial mindset: flexibility in taking on additional responsibilities as needed, an ability to adapt to change and make enhancements
