The Data Center Management function falls under Group Infrastructure Services and is responsible for maintaining Data Center facilities and various infrastructure assets, to protect our critical infrastructure assets from failure or threats.
The Data Center Management team in Asia is responsible for overall planning of Data Centers located across Asia. This includes design and operations such as capacity management, access management, coordinating and supervising day-to-day activities within Data Centers, adhering to the firm’s policies and security guidelines.
Data Center Management team is also expected to drive standardization and consolidation across Global and Nomura Group entities. The successful candidate will primarily work with colleagues in Japan, Hong Kong, and Singapore, as well as other regions’ peers in the UK, US, and India to drive the adaption of standard operating models to manage infrastructure assets' lifecycle securely and cost-effectively, in partnership with other infrastructure teams. | | | | Responsibilities： | - Ensure the availability, security, and safety of Asia Data Centers and their environmental facilities by collaborating with landlords and service providers.
- Plan, manage, and coordinate the installation, moves, decommission and disposal of infrastructure assets, working with respective product and service owners.
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise various day-to-day activities within Data Centers, including hardware maintenance, troubleshooting, and network cabling etc.
- Access controls and management to review, grant/revoke access requests to Data Centers and Racks, collaborating with Corporate Security team to monitor activities through CCTV for security.
- Inventory management of physical assets in Data Centers to track the lifecycle of assets, ensuring the accurate data feeds into the firm’s CMDB.
- Manage Tape Backup medias, including ejecting/inserting tape media from/to tape libraries and securely shipping tape media to/from offsite storage for business continuity.

Requirements | | Requirements: | - 5+ years of cumulative experience with Infrastructure domains such as server platforms, storage, or network for its operation, service deliveries or project management.
- Demonstrate a good code of conduct, acts as a role model not only understanding and adhering to the firm’s policies and guidelines, but also proactively identifying and proposing areas for improvement.
- Demonstrate leadership to proactively engage other Infrastructure teams or stakeholders as appropriate and to provide guidance or mentorship to junior staff and partner vendor resources to grow as a team together.
- Willing to explore and take on new challenges to drive positive changes to the team or organization.
- Good verbal and written English communication skills in Japanese as well as business level in English.
- Experience with Data Center build-out or relocation projects in a Data Center Management role or as a Project Manager(preferred)
- Data Center related certifications such as CDCP, CDCS, CDCE, CDCFOS, and CDCFOM (preferred).
