The Health & Life Sciences Practice

The Program – WindOW to OW
WindOW to OW is a 3-day immersive program for Life Sciences Advanced Degree Candidates designed to provide participants with an in-depth view of health and life sciences strategy consulting at Oliver Wyman.
Over the course of the program, participants will have hands-on experience solving a simulated project led by OW consultants, with additional opportunity to network and connect with leadership across the practice. The program will take place in late April.
Top candidates will receive full-time offers for our Senior Consultant role.
The Senior Consultant Role
PhDs, postdocs, MDs, and PharmDs play an integral client-facing and work-stream leadership role. The position offers excellent career growth opportunities for talented, highly motivated professionals. We are seeking candidates for the Senior Consultant Level. Initial responsibilities could include:
Manage the execution of project modules, including developing hypotheses, building models, conducting primary and secondary research, and synthesizing insights
Lead analytical problem solving, from structuring client problems and designing data collection to conducting analysis and producing client-ready deliverables
Own day-to-day client relationships, serving as the primary point of contact, leading well-organized meetings, and effectively obtaining feedback and addressing concerns
Support Partners in project delivery through accurate, high-quality execution and proactive management of workstreams
Manage and develop junior team members, providing clear direction, coaching, and leverage for senior project staff
Collaborate effectively in team settings, demonstrating adaptability to different working styles and contributing to a supportive, high-performing team culture
Demonstrate strong professional acumen, including Oliver Wyman’s core values, high self-awareness, and effective communication skills
Desired Skills and Experience
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree and PhD, MD, or PharmD degree (completed in 2027) in biology, chemistry, biomedical engineering, or other related life sciences field required
Strong background in conceptual problem solving and analytical skills
Ability to apply depth of content knowledge for thought leadership in project execution, and to develop new intellectual capital to support business development activities
Outstanding communication skills; confidence in presenting to senior executives
Willingness to travel
Unrestricted US work authorization is required. Please note CPT and OPT are forms of restricted authorization.
Preferred Requirements:
Primary (industry expert interviewing) & secondary (industry research, market profiling, journal review) research
Data synthesis, analytics (financial modeling, database creating & manipulation, market sizing)
Communication and presentation skills
Demonstrated leadership experience
Management and training of junior staff

Full-Time Compensation: The applicable base pay for this role ranges from $120- $135K.
The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
