Oliver Wyman Vector is seeking a Lead Specialist for Digital Services & Transformation (Aviation/Aerospace/ Defence/Rail sectors) to join our team in London.

Oliver Wyman Vector is a special business unit of Oliver Wyman, focused on top-tier technical consulting and services to the aviation, aerospace, defence, and rail sectors.

This Lead Specialist (Digital Services) role requires a subject matter expert (SME) capable of driving digital transformation across various sectors, ensuring that our clients in aviation and rail achieve operational excellence through strategic digital initiatives

Please Note: Oliver Wyman/Marsh operates a hybrid working policy and this role involves at least 60% travel to client sites around the UK and Europe

As Lead Specialist, key responsibilities will include:

  • Client Engagement:

    • Collaborating with clients to understand their unique digital transformation needs and lead discussions on strategic initiatives.

    • Conducting workshops to assess IT strategy and identify opportunities for leveraging digital solutions to enhance operational excellence.

  • Digital Solution Consulting:

    • Advising clients on Buy Versus Build decisions, utilizing insights from consultations to select the most appropriate digital solutions.

    • Guiding clients through Solution Selection processes by defining business requirements, evaluating potential systems, and facilitating vendor negotiations.

  • System Integration and Execution:

    • Leading the integration of selected digital solutions, ensuring seamless execution and alignment with organizational goals.

    • Overseeing go-live activities, driving organizational change management efforts to ensure client readiness and adoption.

  • Data Strategy and Analytics:

    • Partnering with clients to implement advanced data science and analytics strategies, turning data into actionable insights.

    • Supporting organizations in building data-driven environments optimized for operational effectiveness.

  • Continuous Improvement Initiatives:

    • Evaluating existing processes and implement optimized workflows that leverage digital tools to enhance efficiency.

    • Driving innovation in operational practices, advocating for and implementing best practices in digital service delivery.

  • Mentoring and Development:

    • Mentoring junior team members in digital practices and methodologies, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

    • Promoting knowledge sharing within the team to ensure the successful delivery of digital services and projects.

Who we are looking for…

  • At least 4 years’ experience in the aviation, rail, defence or aerospace industry, focusing on IT transformations, especially within aviation or rail.

  • Familiarity with major E&M IT systems, e.g., AMOS, Trax, SAP/iMRO, IFS

  • Proven project management experience with demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an emphasis on strategic planning and execution.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, adept at presenting complex ideas to diverse audiences.

  • You will be educated to at least Degree level
