The Manager (Digital Services) will be part of a high-impact team that assists aviation clients in the selection, implementation and optimization, including data analytics, of aviation systems. They will either lead or be part of the team leading client engagements, on-site or remotely, and perform all project related duties, including client advisory and project management. In addition to client related duties, they will help drive the growth of the Digital Services practice through business development, intellectual capital creation and team advancement, through the mentoring, and career development of their advisees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Consulting
    • Collaborate with clients to understand their unique digital transformation needs
  • Conduct / support workshops to assess IT strategy and identify opportunities for leveraging digital solutions to enhance operational excellence
  • Drive / support client projects focused on the selection, implementation, and optimization of digital systems for the commercial aviation, aerospace, defense and rail industry sectors
  • Lead / support data migration efforts and leverage data analytics for strategic insights
  • Assist with resource planning and directing the daily project assignments for client engagements
  • Ability to be on site at client facilities as needed
  • Business Development
    • Participate in the identification, execution and closing of business development activities, as required
    • Support project scoping, labor estimating, and statement of work creation, including commercial terms
    • Be a member of the Oliver Wyman Vector’s Digital Services leadership team, participating in meetings and events, as required
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Evaluate existing processes and implement optimized workflows that leverage digital tools to enhance efficiency
    • Drive innovation in operational practices, advocating for and implementing best practices in digital service delivery
    • Work within AS9100 framework (inherent within Oliver Wyman Vector) to promote and ensure quality and consistency within all processes during project execution
    • Support the execution of strategic initiatives related to AI integration and capability development
  • Mentoring and Development:
    • Mentor junior team members in digital practices and methodologies, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring alignment with company values and goals
    • Support career development, reviews, coaching and leading team members
    • Promote knowledge sharing within the team to ensure the successful delivery of digital services and projects

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in aviation, specifically in Maintenance and Engineering / Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) system implementation, or Fight Operations system implementation, development or sales
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Business, or 10-12 years of relevant experience as a system administrator, or as part of a TechOps or Flight Operations Organization
  • Proven experience with data migration and data analytics
  • Experience in implementing M&E systems, such as AMOS, IFS, SAP/iMRO, TRAX, or Flight Operations / Crew systems, such as AIMS, CAE / Sabre, Jeppesen, NAVBLUE, or similar industry systems
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements within the aviation sector is highly desired
  • Strong stakeholder management and consulting experience is highly desired
  • Functional expertise in one or more of the following areas preferred: Engineering, Maintenance Planning, Maintenance Execution, Supply Chain, Flight Operations
  • Experience in AI applications is highly desired

Required Skills:

  • Expert skills in PowerPoint, Excel and other project management tools (such as Smartsheet)
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities
  • Skills in change management and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to identify client pain points and opportunities, propose, scope and estimate solutions, and prepare and present proposals
  • Experience with client relationship management

Recommended / Nice to have Skills:

  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms and cybersecurity measures
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python, R, SQL would be an asset (preferred)

The applicable base salary range for this role is $120,000-$150,000.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis.

In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
