Overview

This position will be responsible for Value Analysis Value Engineering (VAVE) projects supporting the Suwanee Sustaining Engineering team. Will be required to develop new VAVE projects and move them through the system check points and verifications. Interact with team members at several Hussmann plants and weekly present project(s) validity. This role will support new component development and selection, value engineering and design corrective actions. The ideal candidate shall have skills and experience with refrigeration and HVAC.


Responsibilities

  • Will be responsible for creation of detailed VAVE projects and the cost evaluations of the projects.
  • Lead Cross functional VAVE/Idea Generation events for building a robust productivity pipeline targeted towards sourced and manufactured components and finished goods.
  • Should be a self-starter in coming up with VAVE design, process, material and manufacturing opportunities.
  • Develop detailed action plans, milestones, and deliverables for each VA/VE project. Manage technical timeline/schedule for the execution of VAVE initiatives and ensure delivery on key metrics.
  • Develop, monitor and manage execution of test plans for various VAVE projects. Make sure that all VAVE product changes meet defined product performance, Reliability & Quality standards.
  • Interface with other engineers to verify that data pertaining to product specification is documented accurately.

Qualifications

Formal Education Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in an engineering discipline, Mechanical or Electrical preferred.
  • Minimum Years of Experience Necessary: 2-5 years

Additional Information:

  • At least 2-5 years of experience working as Design Engineer.
  • Must be familiar with Commercial Refrigeration Engineering concepts, Manufacturing Processes in building Refrigeration equipment.
  • Have a strong understanding of engineering principles, scientific analysis and project management.
  • Understanding of Brazing, tube bending, welding, basic Electrical & control concepts related to Commercial Refrigeration or HVAC are desired.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Implement a solution strategy to support Engineering processes that use various Engineering and Business system inputs/outputs
  • Individual should have good critical thinking skills and have experience managing and executing development projects.
  • Individual should have good communication skills, being able to effectively communicate to both technical and non-technical individuals Good time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be a problem solver and able to come up with innovative solutions to real world problems.
