Panasonic has an immediate opening available for Product & Engineering Manager for the strategic product category of our Point of Sale, Kiosk and Wireless solutions.
We are seeking a dynamic and technically adept Product Manager to lead the strategic development and lifecycle of our POS (Point-of-Sale) and WAS (Wireless) solutions. This hybrid role combines the strategic vision and market focus of a Product Manager with the technical depth and problem-solving capabilities of an Engineer. The ideal candidate will drive product innovation, lead cross-functional initiatives, and ensure seamless integration of hardware and software solutions that meet evolving customer needs.
Key Accountabilities:
The Product Management role requires a passionate individual with strong work ethic, verbal and written communication skills, technical knowledge of IT systems and a high value on team collaboration to accomplish mutual goals and objectives.
Product Strategy & Lifecycle Management
- Own the end-to-end product lifecycle for POS and WAS solutions, including roadmap development, go-to-market strategy, and lifecycle optimization.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, engineering, and factory teams to define product positioning, pricing, and promotional strategies.
- Lead product training, partner enablement, and internal education to ensure alignment across all stakeholders.
- Manage SKU rationalization, pricing models, and inventory planning to optimize profitability and operational efficiency.
Engineering & Technical Integration
- Serve as the technical liaison between engineering, sales, and customers to ensure product feasibility, integration, and performance.
- Conduct solution testing, validation, and troubleshooting for hardware/software deployments.
- Translate customer requirements into technical specifications and collaborate with engineering teams to deliver scalable, reliable solutions.
- Evaluate third-party accessories and technologies for compatibility and value-add integration.
Market Intelligence & Customer Engagement
- Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and Voice-of-Customer (VoC) studies to identify trends and inform product decisions.
- Develop business cases and product requirement documents (PRDs) that align with strategic goals and customer expectations.
- Engage directly with key customers and partners to gather feedback, validate concepts, and drive adoption.
New Business Development
- Work with targeted customers, engineering, sales, and business development to identify, analyze, propose, and test new product/ business opportunities that will accelerate Product Category growth and profitability across all vertical markets. This includes Panasonic products, as well as 3rd party accessories and solutions.
What You'll Bring:
- Proven experience in product management and/or engineering roles within the IT, POS, or A/V solutions space.
- Strong understanding of POS and WAS ecosystems, including hardware, software, and network infrastructure.
- Technical fluency to communicate effectively with engineering teams and customer IT stakeholders.
- Demonstrated success in launching new products, managing product roadmaps, and driving cross-functional collaboration.
- Experience with pricing strategy, channel programs (distribution/reseller), and direct customer engagement.
- Ability to build and present business cases, including revenue projections, margin analysis, and support requirements.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
Education & Experience:
- College degree desired in Business Development or Engineering.
- 5-7 years or equivalent experience in Product Management and/or Product Engineering.
- Experience with POS systems (hardware, software, infrastructure). Neural Network experience preferred.
- Experience with professional A/V system applications.

Salary Range
