The Position:
Overseeing the global ground-side platform operations and infrastructure for a leading global internet service provider for our airline customers. Deep expertise in managing hybrid cloud environments, including AWS and on-premises infrastructure (VMware, Nutanix), and a strong background in DevOps and SAFe Agile practices. Key accountabilities include initial deployment of new software and infrastructure, ongoing technical (maintenance) planning and analysis, and management of Quality Assurance issues within the Connectivity Engineering organization.
Strategic Leadership:
- Lead the strategic planning and execution of the Platform Operations and Network Infrastructure team, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technology roadmaps.
- Define and drive the implementation of DevOps and SAFe Agile practices to streamline operations, increase deployment efficiency, and improve service reliability.
Hybrid Cloud Management:
- Oversee the management of a hybrid cloud environment, ensuring seamless integration between on-premises infrastructure and cloud services (AWS, VMware, Nutanix).
- Ensure high availability, scalability, and security of applications and infrastructure across both cloud and on-premises environments.
Operational Excellence:
- Manage day-to-day platform operations and network infrastructure, including performance monitoring, capacity planning, and incident management.
- Develop and implement best practices for infrastructure automation, deployment pipelines, and configuration management.
- Establish and maintain SLAs, KPIs, and performance metrics to ensure consistent service delivery and continuous improvement.
- Responsible for managing within budget and contribute to its development.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of engineers and support staff.
- Foster a collaborative, Agile-based culture focused on continuous learning and innovation.
- Own team results as measured by established SLAs, KPIs and performance metrics.
- Create team roadmaps, define team success criteria.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with network engineering, satellite engineering, and platform development teams to support cross-functional initiatives and ensure alignment with business goals.
- Partner with security and compliance teams to ensure all systems adhere to company policies and industry standards.
Technical Expertise:
- Strong background in managing hybrid cloud environments, including AWS, VMware, and Nutanix.
- Deep understanding of Linux-based systems (CentOS preferred) and infrastructure automation.
- Experience with OSS/BSS platforms and supporting service provider environments.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible).
Leadership and Process:
- Proven experience leading teams in a DevOps and SAFe Agile environment.
- Strong understanding of Agile principles, including PI planning, backlog management, and iterative development.
- Ability to drive organizational change and implement DevOps best practices at scale.
- Ability to provide strategic leadership, operational excellence, and the ability to drive transformation in a fast-paced, complex environment.
Problem-Solving and Decision-Making:
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify issues, develop solutions, and drive resolutions in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to make data-driven decisions and present recommendations to executive leadership.
The salary range of $136,000 – $227,000 is just one component of Panasonic’s total package. The final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives.
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field .
- Master’s Degree preferred
- 5-8 years experience managing a technical deployment and support organization.
- 3+ years project management experience.
- 3 years of staff management experience.
- Professional certifications in AWS (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect), VMware, or Nutanix are highly desirable.
- SAFe Agile certification (e.g., SAFe Program Consultant or SAFe Agilist) preferred.
- May require travel, up to 20% of the time to domestic and/or international locations.

We also close our offices at the corporate level in the U.S. between Christmas and New Year. For operational positions that are expected to work on holidays, we provide additional compensation for hours worked.
