Overview

This role requires a blend of technical expertise and sales acumen, making it ideal for individuals who are passionate about switcher technology and enjoy working closely with customers to provide tailored solutions. Your efforts will be instrumental in driving the success of our product offerings and ensuring our sales team is equipped with the knowledge and skills to excel.
Responsibilities

  • Product Demonstration: Serve as the frontline resource for Panasonic’s KAIROS live production switcher sales opportunities, providing support and coordination for key end-user demonstrations.
  • Solution Selling: Support the sales team in selling the entire Panasonic portfolio. Match customer needs to proposed solutions. Explain the Panasonic ecosystem functionality during product demonstrations.
  • Product Commissioning: Provide on-site commissioning for new product installations, including the integration of Panasonic KAIROS with third-party products.
  • Hands-On Product Operational Training: Provide comprehensive hands-on product training for customers, including Technical Directors, Engineers, Producers and Directors.
  • Develop Demo Guides and Videos: Create detailed demonstration guides and instructional videos to educate end-users and drive sales.
  • Quarterly Product Training: Conduct quarterly training sessions for Sales Engineers and Sales Managers, covering new switcher functionality, software updates and new products.
  • After Sales Support: Support KAIROS customers, using remote diagnostics, to troubleshooting issues and provide solutions based on collaboration with the factory and the service group.
  • Monthly Collaboration: Engage in monthly discussions with Product Management to analyze technical trends, brainstorm future product ideas, and evaluate the competitive landscape. Collect market conditions and intelligence data from the field to support these initiatives.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned including:
  • Prepare and support trade shows and other events.
  • Evaluate new products.

Provide project updates and status reports.

Basic Qualifications

Scope

  • Managing engineering projects, providing technical guidance, and mentoring other engineers, working cross functionally.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, broadcasting, or related work experience.
  • 5+ years of television industry experience is required, as a Technical Director, or selling production switchers.
  • Proven experience in a sales engineering or technical support role, preferably within the broadcast or audio-visual industry.
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to understand complex product features and live production workflow.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including product management, sales, leadership and marketing.
  • Expertise with SDI, HDMI and Streaming Formats. Experience with SMPTE ST 2110 and PTP is highly desired.

  • Ability to configure broadcast production switchers and related technologies, such as networking, graphics, displays and tally.
  • Conduct operational training for Technical Directors, end-users, professional organizations and engineers.
  • Familiarity with competitive switchers and live production industry trends.
  • Expertise with Windows. Knowledge of macOS and Linux is a plus.
  • Proficiency in developing training materials using Microsoft Office products.
  • Comfortable being on camera for training and sales content.
  • Live production experience, ideally in sports, news or entertainment.
  • Expertise with 12G video, reference and digital audio. Experience with driving LED Video Walls is a plus.
  • Experience with REST API and Lua format is a plus.
  • Experience communicating product needs to factory engineers.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to provide timely technical support.
  • Ability to quickly learn new technical concepts and apply that knowledge to Panasonic products and system solutions.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences.

Other Requirements:

  • 50% travel is required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely using proper lifting techniques.

The salary range below is just one component of Panasonic Connect's total package. Actual compensation varies depending on the individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. This role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives.
