We are seeking dedicated individuals to join us as full-time, on-site team members at our new, state-of-the-art factory located in the thriving city of DeSoto, Kansas.

Job Summary:

The Facilities Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring safe and reliable utilities delivery and operations. This is accomplished by leading both reactive and proactive maintenance efforts, collaborating with Facilities Management and Engineering, and regularly aligning with Factory Operations Production/Maintenance personnel. The incumbent must be a subject matter expert in all aspects of industrial manufacturing facilities operations and utility delivery systems. The Facilities Supervisor will manage a team of up to 10 Chemical Technicians. This role must ensure that this team as well as the Facilities Operations and Maintenance team members have the appropriate level of knowledge, skill, and tools to perform their jobs safely and adequately.

Essential Duties:

Functional Leadership & Operations:

  • Leads, develops, and manages a 10+ member team of Operations, Maintenance, and Chemical Technicians
  • Oversees the safe and reliable delivery of utilities, maintenance procedures, and chemical unloading operations
  • Serves as the primary subject matter expert (SME) for Utility Operations and Maintenance.
  • Provides technical input during project design reviews, process hazard analyses, and other critical reviews
  • Leads tactical execution of utility activities and resource planning to meet operational goals
  • Acts as the main Facilities point of contact for equipment troubleshooting and root cause analysis (RCA)
  • Participates in maintenance and shutdown planning, ensuring contractor coordination, documentation, and lessons learned

Strategic Alignment & Continuous Improvement:

  • Supports and leads continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operability, maintainability, reliability, and efficiency
  • Partners with Facilities Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering teams to evaluate Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and implement improvement measures
  • Reviews operational records (electronic logs, CMMS data, maintenance notifications) to identify trends and performance opportunities

Team Development & Knowledge Sharing:

  • Coaches, mentors, and conducts performance reviews to support employee growth and development.
  • Provides practical, on-the-job training and assists in the creation of Maintenance Operating Procedures (MOPs), Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), and Standard Work Instructions (SWIs)
  • Collaborates with the Facilities Compliance Specialist on technician progression, certification testing, and skills development programs

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Coordinates with Facilities Engineering, Construction, and other site work groups to ensure seamless operations and alignment with PECNA goals
  • Partners with vendors, contractors, and tenants to ensure compliance with site policies and safety standards
  • Serves as a key stakeholder on project teams, providing expertise on Utility Operations and Maintenance

Quality, Safety, Compliance, & Risk Management:

  • Partners with Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) to ensure compliance with all environmental, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Reviews and validates that MOPs, JSAs, SWIs, and SOPs are current, accurate, and effective.
  • Promotes a culture of safety and operational excellence through proactive risk identification and mitigation.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:

  • To ensure the health and safety in the workplace and for the protection of our employee’s, wearing PPE is a requirement for some roles at PECNA. PPE may include equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, Hard Hat, Uniforms, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator.

Qualifications

Qualifications: Requirements - Required and/or Preferred

Education:

  • Basic/Required: Minimum Two-Year Trade school/vocational school graduate or Associates of Science/Applied Science Degree or equivalent experience
  • Preferred: N/A

Essential Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of related work experience in an industrial manufacturing facility.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Lead Technician and/or Supervisor in an industrial manufacturing facility.
  • Advanced knowledge and work experience in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, pneumatic, and HVAC systems in an industrial manufacturing facility.
  • Knowledge of relevant standards (OSHA, EPA, NFPA, ISO 9001, etc.), regulatory compliance, and industry best practices.
  • Must possess a “safety-first” mindset.
  • Strong technical background specific to unit/process operations, troubleshooting skills, and root cause analysis (RCA).
  • Strong initiative and ability to analyze and improve processes.
  • Ability and willingness to prioritize work based on experience and practical judgement.
  • Ability to maintain focus and lead with clarity during stressful situations.
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to organize, motivate, coach, and lead team members who are not direct reports in a high-performing team environment.
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMSs).
  • Experience with Building Management Systems (BMSs).
  • Strong computer skills with advanced knowledge of process specific software, e.g., SAP, MaintainX CMMS.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working in ambiguous situations, e.g., start-up environments.
  • Experience with reliability programs in an industrial manufacturing facility.
  • Knowledge of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).

Preferred Certification(s):

  • CPR Certification
  • Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) License
  • Mobile Elevating Work Platform (MEWP)
  • NFPA 70E
  • OSHA 30-Hour
  • HAZWOPER 8- or 24-hour
  • Certified in relevant “Train the Trainer” Programs.
