Responsibilities
Reporting to the Associate Director of the Vendor Product Management team, this role will be responsible for cultivating, developing, and growing relationships and product strategy with both existing and new 3rd party software and service partners that will complement and expand the current revenue of the TOUGHBOOK product line across North America.
This Sr. Vendor Product Manager is also responsible for driving the 3rd Party Strategic Alliance business as well as developing relationships within the internal PCONA departments such as Sales, Marketing, Operations, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Legal and Procurement groups as well as managing an existing global approach to national business within the TOUGHBOOK product line. This includes working closely with global engineering, product management and other international teams as needed to help identify, certify, and launch third party hardware and software services.
This Sr. Vendor Product Manager role requires an enthusiastic individual with a strong work ethic, excellent verbal, and written communication skills and that consistently utilizes team collaboration to accomplish their goals.
Responsibilities:
Vendor relationship management that includes onboarding of new software and services and hardware partners as well as managing and tracking revenue and profit key performance indicators for product decision making. Key tactics within this responsibility include pricing, SKU set up & management, promotion, marketing, training & education, inventory management as well as end to end life-cycle management.
Project management and timely delivery of third-party product introductions which includes managing sales team and vendor partner request/expectations. Key tactics include conducting regular internal meetings with related departments as well as monthly external status meetings and quarterly business reviews with vendors.
Product strategy and planning activities to expand the third-party vendor software and services category to drive TOUGHBOOK sales which includes supporting partner events, market research, product & solution requirement creation, and business case development to address changing market demand and customer satisfaction. Key tactics include creating and maintaining key performance indicator reporting for monthly and quarterly statuses across different Panasonic management tiers to track product goal obtainment as well as working with sales teams to identify critical solutions to TOUGHBOOK market growth across verticals.
Primary business contact for Vendor Agreements which includes working with Sales, Service & Engineering, Finance, Legal and other stakeholders to meet the market/customer needs while ensuring Panasonic compliance, risk and business model requirements are met. Key tactics include supporting partner contract reviews, licensing audits and finance reviews for possible credits and returns.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- Experience interpreting, analyzing, and negotiating legal agreements from a business perspective with external vendors.
- Relationship management skills proven with successful vendor products launches resulting in market segment, revenue, and profit growth.
- Demonstratable decision-making capabilities with aptitude for problem solving and strong inter-personal skills.
- 7 years’ experience in the U.S. enterprise OEM laptop industry with in-depth knowledge of the B2B market, industry partners, distribution channel ecosystem, and competitors.
- Technical hardware/software background with ability to communicate with Engineering and Product planning teams and translate complex concepts and customer needs into product requirements and marketing terms.
- Experience in business case development, market analysis and providing product direction.
Education & Experience:
- BA/BS degree or comparable industry experience
- 7 Years or more with a computer device company with experience in Product Management, Business Development, Engineering, or comparable role.
- Experience and knowledge of OEM Product Development and common practices for onboarding vendors & partners.

- Organizational skills that include meticulous output, time management and schedule keeping with ability to prioritize changing workloads.
- Customer orientated aptitude geared towards improving customer experience by being responsive, identifying pain points and striving for end user satisfaction.
- Analytical proficiency that anticipates obstacles by evaluating multiple data points, understanding data relationships to gain insights for product decision making.

- High level of initiative-taking communication (written/oral)
- Build networks, collect and share wisdom through training/experience.
- Clear, concise method of communicating information to internal/external customers.

The salary range listed below is just one component of Panasonic’s total package. Actual compensation varies depending on the individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives. *The minimum hourly wage for this role will be the greater of the posted range, or minimum wage for the location where the employee will be working, subject to local minimum wage requirements.
