Responsibilities
Job Summary:
The Director’s role in the Customer Delivery Group is responsible for the development, implementation and execution of operational strategies that ensure 100% On-time Delivery of products and services, high product quality and, an exceptional level of customer satisfaction on a continual basis in a fast paced warehouse / logistics and distribution environment.
This role will oversee multiple warehouse locations managed by our 3PL partners or those that are vertically integrated and instills continuous improvements, process standardization alignment and, accountability within the business areas of warehousing, inventory management, distribution, global logistics without compromising lean, fit and agile concepts.
Major Responsibilities:
Business Strategy and Delivery Execution:
- Executes best in class operation, technology and productivity standards. Drives technology and innovation throughout the global DC network
- Lead performance accountability by defining, measuring, and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), ensuring all stakeholders consistently meet or exceed targets.
- Proactively address gaps by implementing corrective actions for any underperforming KPIs
- Champion inventory integrity through robust controls, effective utilization of the Warehouse Management System (WMS), and adherence to best-in-class inventory processes.
- Develop, own, drive strategic roadmap aligned to meet or exceed VOC expectations while supporting PAC growth and cost targets
- Present and collaborate with Panasonic Avionic Executives to align strategies and support business growth plan; provide critical input to executive team to ensure successful growth
- Develop and implement an effective Change Management process that covers operational enhancements and modifications to facilitate the implementation of new or improved business processes. Communicate to department leaders of said changes and modifications through effective communication toolsets and applications.
- Drives continuous improvement projects in the areas of responsibility to ensure there is harmonization of processes within the DC network to ensure a lean, fit and agile operation.
- Oversees global trade compliance activities to ensure the business operates within trade compliance guidelines and regulations.
- Deploys tools, processes and methodologies so that the business continuously operates with due diligence and reasonable care to mitigate risk.
- Drives cost improvements across the supply chain through better freight usage and rate management with particular focus on reducing and mitigating Custom duty rates across regions.
- Oversee multi-channel logistics network pursuant to lean supply chain initiatives.
- Establish, maintain and monitor service level agreements (SLAs) with designated service providers to ensure compliance with company expectations, deliverables and regulatory requirements.
- Lead the overseas expansion of the company's outbound supply chain through the identification and implementation of appropriate 3PL logistics service partners.
Team Management:
- Directs and coordinates, through subordinate managerial personnel, activities of operations to obtain optimal use of equipment, facilities, and personnel across regions.
- Responsible for continuously delivering an efficient operation and layout of each regional DC by optimizing processes in the respective operational areas; receiving, stores, inventory control, shipping, etc.
- Collaborates with senior leadership across responsible functional groups to effectively establish definitive processes to address operational conflicts and implement quick resolutions.
- Contributes to the conceptual design, communication and implementation of procedures, processes, tools and applications as related to new and existing business information systems.
- Manages, coaches and develops key leaders within the operational areas, provides direction, performs issue resolution, and sets deadlines to ensure activities are completed timely.
- Ensures a work environment which provides for team spirit, quality work, safety and staff maintains consistent compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
- Recruit, train, and provide developmental opportunities for employees to ensure a motivated and productive work team across regions.
- Comply with ethical business conduct requirements.
Knowledge / Skill Requirements:
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of key applications and processes in the supply chain, manufacturing operation, and trade compliance space
- Strong collaboration skills to maintain open cooperation with multiple stakeholders within different business units
- Natural problem solving skills are necessary to own the process and maintain required data flows – Preferred lean methodology for solving problems
- Able to multitask and prioritize assignments.
- Ability to extract data to provide business insights.
- Is the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in supply chain processes, toolsets and business applications
- Demonstrated experience in manufacturing processes, quality systems, inventory control, logistics, distribution management, trade compliance within a global organization
- Strong project management skills, team facilitation skills, data analysis and communication skills.
- PMP preferred(not required)
- Detailed understanding of financial concepts (budgets, forecasting and variance analysis)
- Solid interpersonal skills, verbal and written communications skills(including presentations to internal/external groups)
- Ability to be self-directed, self-accountable, and highly strategic.
- Proven record of successful leadership where results have a positive impact to the financial health of the organization.
- Demonstrated knowledge of personal computer applications (Microsoft Word, Access, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, etc.)
- Effective time management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, team oriented, customer service driven environment.
- Proven ability to develop and operate within a budget and to analyze expense variance and make appropriate adjustments.
The salary range of $155,000 – $280,000 is just one component of Panasonic’s total package. The final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives. The minimum hourly wage for this role will be the greater of the posted range, or minimum wage for the location where the employee will be working, subject to local minimum wage requirements.
Qualifications
Education / Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree and work experience of at least 10 years in Supply Chain Operations, Supply Chain Logistics, and/or, Supply Chain Management within the area of electronics or, aviation-manufacturing environment is required.
- In lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree, at least 15 years of Operations experience is required.
- Previous experience using a high-level ERP/MRP system is mandatory
- Technical and functional experience with business information systems are mandatory.
- Experience with Oracle / SAP Applications is preferred.
- Direct personnel management experience required.
- Professional Certification CPIM/CSCP, APICS highly desired.
- Must have multi-location experience.

This means that there is no fixed number, range, or limit to the amount of Personal and Vacation Days that may be taken for exempt employees. Non-exempt hourly employees accrue 14 vacation days per year + 7 sick days + 3 personal days. Accrual rate increases with tenure. All employees receive 11 company paid holidays per year. We also close our offices at the corporate level in the U.S. between Christmas and New Year. For operational positions that are expected to work on holidays, we provide additional compensation for hours worked.
