Overview

The Organizational Development Intern works directly with the Organizational Development team to learn processes, best practices and application of Organizational Development concepts and initiatives related to culture, leadership development, talent/succession planning, change management, performance management and team development.


Responsibilities

  • Support the OD team in the effective planning, implementation, follow-up, sustainability and improvement of various processes and projects
  • Collaborate with others as part of a multi-disciplinary Human Resource team to assist in coordinating tasks, services and the delivery of high impact client support

  • Support the development of tools, materials, and procedures that enable effective execution and implementation of organizational development and talent management processes.

  • Apply academic learnings along with research to identify and recommend best practices to effectively manage initiatives

  • Collaborate with OD team to facilitate employee training, team building workshops or other OD interventions as needed

  • Perform related administrative support responsibilities

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Gain hands-on experience in your discipline including participating in a variety of projects, meetings, and trainings

  • Participate in the Ideation & Innovation Challenge Project that requires intern groups to work towards a business development solution

  • Networking with senior leaders, associates, and other program interns to learn about our organization

  • Attend tours of Hussmann's 1.6 million square foot manufacturing facility, our Global Hub, and the R&D Lab

  • Participate in community stewardship outreach


Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in school pursuing a graduate degree in Organizational Development, Organizational Leadership, Organizational Psychology or a related discipline

  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including written, oral and presentation skills.

  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization

  • Ability to set priorities, manage multiple projects and demonstrate strong attention to detail

  • Highly motivated and eager to learn

  • Ability to work as part of a team

  • Strong computer skills

  • Ability to relocate, if not local
