This role is responsible for managing end-to-end Payroll and Benefits processes for the Mumbai office, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing and administration of employee benefits, including insurance, Provident Fund, and other mandated and firm sponsored programs. The role is responsible for tracking and analyzing benefits data, maintaining compliance with statutory, tax, labor law requirements, and handling payroll reconciliations, statutory filings, and regulatory reporting with a strong focus on data accuracy, integrity, and internal controls.‑to‑end Payroll and Benefits processes for the Mumbai office, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing and administration of employee benefits, including insurance, Provident Fund, and other mandated and ‑sponsored programs. The role is responsible for tracking and analyzing benefits data, maintaining compliance with statutory, tax, labor law requirements, and handling payroll reconciliations, statutory filings, and regulatory reporting with a strong focus on data accuracy, integrity, and internal controls.

Your role

  • Process salary, reimbursements, gratuity, superannuation, EPFO, and other statutory benefits in accordance with company policies and statutory requirements.

  • Manage vendor invoices end‑to‑end, including validation, accruals, reclassifications, and amortization prior to submission for payment.

  • Support bookkeeping and accounting activities related to payroll and benefits expenses.

  • Perform headcount and benefits reconciliations across HR, payroll, benefits, and finance systems.

  • Manage and coordinate vendor agreements and medical insurance renewals GTL, for the Mumbai office.

  • Respond to employee and statutory benefit queries, ensuring timely resolution in line with defined SLAs.

  • Maintain accurate documentation, audit trails, and compliance with internal controls and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

  • Identify and drive opportunities for process improvement, standardization, and simplification to enhance productivity and compliance, influencing change at a regional level.

  • Partner effectively with third‑party payroll and benefits providers to ensure seamless, compliant, and high‑quality service delivery, and manage vendor relationships at a regional level.

  • Continuously build and share subject‑matter expertise by staying current on internal updates, regulatory changes, and industry best practices.

  • Provide ad‑hoc operational support for assigned processes as required.


Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, HR or a related field is required.

  • Minimum 3 - 6 years of relevant experience in payroll and benefits administration in India

  • Proficient using Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)

  • Strong knowledge of India Payroll, EPF, statutory compliances, Personal taxation etc.

  • Exposure to Employee Benefits like Insurance, National Pension Scheme is required.

  • Knowledge of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP Act) of India and the obligations related to the collection, use, protection, and handling of personal data.

  • Good understanding of labor laws and compliances

  • Ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to multi-task

  • Self-starter, highly motivated and innovative

  • Must be flexible with work hours if required.

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the firm are required.

  • Experienced working with regional or global team set-ups/stakeholders would be a strong advantage.
