As a Business Analysis Advisor within PNC's Retail Product Management & Development organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA.


About the Role

We are seeking a Business Analysis Advisor to drive the quality assurance strategy and execution for key technology and process transformation initiatives. This role requires expertise in aligning testing with business needs, developing traceability between requirements and outcomes, and leveraging business process maps to ensure comprehensive test coverage.

You will be a part of the implementation and scaling of a combinatorial test design tool across key initiatives, streamline testing efficiencies, and ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational standards. This role serves as a critical liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring high-quality, traceable, and repeatable testing outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Testing Leadership:
• Manage end-to-end testing efforts, ensuring alignment with business objectives, technical requirements, and regulatory standards.
• Participate in development and implementation of business process maps, ensuring that all critical workflows are accurately captured and reflected in testing strategies.
• Enforce best practices for traceability, ensuring all test cases align directly with business requirements and technical deliverables.
• Advise product teams on risk-based testing approaches and quality gates

Test Planning & Execution:
• Create and manage detailed test plans, test cases, and scenarios, leveraging process maps and workflows to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
• Ensure product teams understand the intent & value of functional, regression, integration, UAT, and performance testing, while ensuring thorough validation of end-to-end business processes.
• Utilize automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, QFaaS, TestNG) and other tools to enhance the scalability of testing efforts where feasible.

Test Data & Environment Readiness
• Drive test data provisioning automation improvements to reduce testing cycle time and support broad test coverage of client profiles
• Ensure test environments are properly configured and available to support testing needs





Implementation & Scaling of Testing Tools:
• Drive the implementation, adoption, and scaling of a within business units for a testing platform to drive combinatorial test design, optimize test case generation and automate for efficiency.
• Promote team proficiency in the tool, delivering training, guidance, and measurable improvements in test effectiveness.
• Track and report on metrics related to tool usage, including improved defect prevention and reduction in testing time.

Business Process & Traceability:
• Collaborate with business analysts to develop and maintain business process maps, ensuring alignment between business operations and system functionality.
• Manage requirements traceability matrices (RTMs), ensuring full traceability between business requirements, test cases, and defects.
• Continuously monitor gaps or inconsistencies in process alignment and resolve them in partnership with stakeholders.

Change Delivery Support:
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Business, Technology, Risk, & Compliance) to ensure testing is embedded in project lifecycle planning.
• Support defect triage and resolution management providing clear communication to stakeholders on test progress and quality status
• Ensure testing aligns with regulatory and compliance requirements as applicable

Required Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience:
o 3+ years in quality assurance, testing, or process improvement roles
o Experience designing and maintaining business process maps for testing purposes.
o Strong background in traceability, particularly with managing requirements traceability matrices (RTMs).
o Demonstrated success implementing and scaling combinatorial test design tools.
• Technical Skills:
o Expertise in testing tools (e.g., JIRA, Selenium, ALM, Hexawise, Ignite Quality Platform, QFaaS)
o Strong knowledge of SQL, APIs, and data validation techniques.
o Experience in Agile and Waterfall methodologies.

Job Description

  • Directs the research, discovery, collection and interpretation of business requirements. Participates in the development and review of complex processes and procedures, workflow analytics and reporting. May provide senior level consultation and communicates with clients and technology teams on business designs, problem solving and business analysis to support project goals and objectives.
  • Consults and recommends the frameworks, methodologies and processes involved in business requirements traceability for business analysis teams. Independently mentors, leads, and coaches other associates to affect knowledge transfer. Oversees the development and maintenance of all applicable policy and procedure documentation.
  • Translates business needs, processes and/or procedures by partnering with applicable experts and business stakeholders to determine and articulate needs. May communicate with senior level stakeholders and technology teams on complex business requirements.
  • Leads multiple business analysis project management processes through planning, quality assurance and effectiveness assessment. Provides direction for the successful deployment of projects. Drives the development, analysis and distribution of complex reporting.
