What is the opportunity?
Our client is a specialist provider of asset services, custody, payments and treasury services. Founded in 1864, they are the 10th largest bank worldwide and the 5th in North America, as measured by market capitalization. Our client has a processing centre of operational excellence supporting 10 countries across three geographical time zones employing a Global Operating Model to maximise efficiencies across times zones and supports a 24/5 operational capability. The objectives for Malaysia are to enhance the scalability of their global operations, improve service quality via their ‘centres of excellence’ and to implement/leverage standardised processes globally.
The Global Markets (GM) Business Management team supports the wider GM business, taking direction from the head of Global Markets & their leadership committee. They collaborate with the business and functional partners to support the successful execution of strategic objectives for GM and help to ensure a robust controls framework is in place to meet all internal operational and regulatory requirements.
The GM Business Manager has full responsibility for driving the operational efficiency and effectiveness of the business. The team maintains strong partnerships with each of the functional areas supporting GM to ensure the above objectives are achieved. Partners include Product Control, Finance, BCS, Technology, Risk, Legal, Compliance, Human Resources, and other key areas. This role will support the GM Business Management (BM) team, reporting directly to the various GM Business Management leads.
What will you do?
- Review of Financial Reports, identify key trends & report to key stakeholders.
- Expense management - direct and indirect allocated costs
- Meeting & presentation preparation, including :
- Business strategy development.
- Financial planning & analysis.
- Client Value (CV) reporting & analysis.
- Monthly Financial Reports.
- Other one-off reports as required by S&T e.g. 3rd party benchmarking.
- Technology – manage systems access requests, inventory & requirements.
- Ad hoc project work.
- Partnering with BM colleagues on strategic projects and GM wide initiatives.
- Support day to day asks from GM Sales & Trading.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Undergraduate degree and 2-4 years relevant experience.
- Financial, consultancy or business management backgrounds would be helpful.
- Professional Qualification i.e. CA would be advantage.
- Knowledge of the GM businesses within a Capital Markets context including – Products, Organizational Structure & Operational Processes.
- Advanced capability with Microsoft Office products – specifically Excel, PowerPoint & Word.
- Highly effective and literate with excellent written and verbal presentation skills.
- Self-motivated, team orientated individual.
