Job Description

What is the Opportunity?

The role operates within the Portfolio & Change Management (PCM) group and will function primarily as a Project Manager (PM) on various initiatives across the Business & Client Services (BCS) department where various project drivers include: Business or process improvements, technology enhancement or system implementations, operational risk reduction, quality improvement, regulatory soundness, cost reduction, etc. The incumbent will work directly with relevant participants to define project parameters, success criteria, solutions, and timelines while deploying best practices in project management, project planning, reporting, and stakeholder communication•

What will you do ?

  • Develop project plans and timelines including definition of project scope, goals, and deliverables.

  • Determine and define project roles and responsibilities including management of project team members and motivate them to meet objectives.

  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the execution of projects.

  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.

  • Manage relationships with clients and stakeholders including facilitation communication between project stakeholders and team members.

  • Regularly report project progress to management and clients.

  • Ensure resource availability and allocation.

  • Identify, analyze, and manage project risks development risk mitigation strategies.

  • Track project performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques.

  • Perform change management and ensure changes are well documented.

  • Build strong, long-term relationships throughout the RBC organization.

  • Constantly seek to improve own capacity, skills and expertise.

What do you need to succeed?

  • 4-6 yrs of Project Management Experience

  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and within a team

  • Ability to prioritize, plan and execute work to meet tight deadlines

  • Strong analytical skills - Ability to identify issues and suggest solutions

  • Good working knowledge of Capital Markets organizational structure (front office sales and trading, middle office, product control, BCS, regulatory/compliance, etc.) and its operational functions and processes.

  • Capable of building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders across the enterprise

  • Provide concise and effective updates to the Associate Director and Director, Portfolio Change Management, as well as to the Program Manager where applicable

  • Skillful in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Microsoft Project) JIRA, Confluence

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience

Preferred skills:

  • Strong knowledge of supporting systems used within Operations

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification, Agile Certified Practitioner
