What is the opportunity?

You will lead strategic digital transformation initiatives and guide execution as part of RBC Capital Markets' Lending Services division. This senior leadership role requires deep expertise in lending operations, systems integration, and the ability to translate complex business requirements into actionable digital transformation roadmaps that drive operational excellence and client value.

The Business and Client Services (BCS) group is the functional core of RBC Capital Markets’ trading and lending activities. We provide our business partners greater efficiency, scalability and control within their operational processing, helping to ensure the firm’s continued growth and success. Within BCS, the Lending Services division encompasses corporate lending operations, syndicated lending operations, agency administration, and loan trading operations. As Director of Lending Services Digital Transformation, you will shape the future of our lending technology ecosystem, driving efficiency, scalability, and innovation across our lending platforms.

The Digital Transformation teams shape and advance the BCS transformation roadmap through a holistic lens of people, processes, data and technologies. Through a variety of tools and methodologies, our team strives to clearly articulate a vision for the future of our businesses, and drive towards it, in collaboration with our business and IT partners.

As a Director of Lending Services Digital Transformation, a typical day might include the following:

  • Developing comprehensive digital transformation strategies for corporate and syndicated lending operations

  • Creating multi-year technology roadmaps aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements

  • Leading cross-functional initiatives across Lending Services, other BCS projects and business/regulatory driven programs

  • Architecting end-to-end solutions that enhance operational workflows and client experiences

  • Evaluating emerging fintech solutions and their applicability to lending operations

  • Leading comprehensive analysis and redesign of lending processes to identify automation opportunities

  • Implementing digital solutions to streamline loan lifecycle management

  • Presenting strategic initiatives and business cases to senior management and executive stakeholders

  • Managing relationships with technology vendors and service providers for Lending Services, Global Credit and BCS

  • Overseeing multiple concurrent transformation initiatives with enterprise-wide impact in the role of lead Product Owner

  • Providing thought leadership on leading technology trends and competitive landscape analysis

  • Identifying opportunities for innovation in corporate lending and loan trading operations

  • Driving adoption of industry best practices in lending operations digitization

Who We're Looking For

  • You have a bachelor's degree and at least 8 years of experience in financial services with significant lending operations exposure, strategy consulting, or financial technology

  • You have deep expertise in lending operations including corporate lending, syndicated lending, agency administration, or loan trading operations

  • Demonstrated experience with core lending systems such as ACBS, Versana, LoanIQ, Clearpar, and/or Admin Detail Flow

  • Understanding of lending lifecycle workflows and system integrations

  • Experience with lending data management and regulatory reporting systems

  • You have successfully led enterprise-scale digital transformation initiatives in financial services (preferably capital markets), with demonstrated ability to deliver complex, multi-stakeholder programs

  • You possess senior-level strategic thinking capabilities with enterprise vision and the ability to translate business strategy into technology roadmaps

  • You have proven experience managing senior executive relationships and presenting to C-level stakeholders

  • You demonstrate exceptional program management skills with track record of delivering large-scale technology implementations on time and within budget

  • You are an inspiring leader capable of driving organizational change and building consensus across diverse stakeholder groups

  • You have experience with Agile methodologies, and modern software development lifecycle management

  • You possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to synthesize complex information into actionable insights

Nice to have

  • >5 years of experience in commercial/corporate credit or banking

  • Advanced degree (MBA, Master's) in business, finance or technology

  • Extensive background in fintech and vendor management

  • Experience with data analytics and machine learning applications in lending operations

  • Consulting experience with corporate lending technology implementations
