This position is critical to ensuring RBC Capital Markets adheres to new rules as well as maintains regulatory compliance while optimizing operational efficiency across trade reporting and derivatives infrastructure.

What will you do?

  • Serve as the primary subject matter expert for assigned regulatory initiatives, providing authoritative analysis and recommendations to senior management, project sponsors, and cross-functional stakeholders on regulatory requirements, compliance gaps, and remediation approaches

  • Conduct comprehensive gap analyses and business impact assessments for regulatory projects, using advanced Excel modeling and VBA macros to quantify effort, risk, and resource requirements

Requirements & Process Definition

  • Lead end-to-end business process mapping for existing and proposed operational workflows, clearly delineating roles, responsibilities, interdependencies, control requirements, and identified gaps across all relevant functions and teams

  • Gather, document, and manage formal business requirements using RBC project management framework and standards, ensuring requirements are traceable, testable, and aligned with regulatory intent

  • Collaborate closely with the Head of Regulatory Change Delivery, BAU Product Managers, Compliance, IT partners, and external vendors to ensure requirements reflect business reality and technical feasibility

  • Maintain and escalate outstanding issues and dependencies through structured governance (RAID logs, Confluence pages, status reporting) to ensure visibility and timely resolution

Program Delivery & Quality Assurance

  • Develop and document comprehensive test packs and test plans; participate actively in testing initiatives to validate solution readiness against business requirements and regulatory obligations

  • Identify and recommend operational simplifications and efficiency improvements to senior management, balancing regulatory compliance with business optimization

  • Define and oversee tactical interim solutions where strategic system-based solutions are not yet available, ensuring these solutions maintain appropriate controls and do not create technical debt

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Manage stakeholder relationships across PCM, Regulatory Services BAU, Compliance, IT, Business Transformation, Front Office, and Product Control functions; facilitate alignment on priorities, timelines, and trade-offs

  • Communicate progress, risks, and recommendations through regular updates to project sponsors, senior leadership, and key partners, adjusting communication style and detail level to audience and urgency.
