What is the opportunity?

With over CAD 240bn Market Capitalization, RBC is one of the largest investment banks in the world. This is an exciting opportunity for an Analyst to join our Equity Derivative Flow Sales business in Paris. The salesperson will work closely with Senior salespeople in the team to develop their knowledge base and skill set, with the aim of taking responsibility for their own client base, and supporting the team head’s larger clients, desk infrastructure, and the development of new product areas. The role will be dedicated to a wide range of equity derivatives products: flow options, futures, light exotics, delta 1, QIS. Daily interactions with trading, structuring, and various support functions

RBC’s expectation is that all employees and contractors will work in the office with some flexibility to work up to 1 day per week remotely, depending on working arrangements.

What will you do?

• Engage with the clients covered by the desk and develop meaningful dealing relationships. This will involve pricing of requests and interacting with clients both on the phone and face to face
• Onboard new clients, focus on business development with prospective and existing clients
• Promote RBC’s strengths and capabilities across equity derivatives to client base
• Price flow and light exotic options, analyse product sensitivities and suitability
• Produce trade ideas (thematic ideas, market timing ideas)
• Work on ad-hoc projects and tasks as required and instructed

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

• Strong mathematical / finance background
• Good knowledge of financial markets
• Prior Equity Derivatives sales experience preferred
• Ability to remain focused whilst working within a busy, high-pace environment
• Flexible team player with good communication skills
• Attention to details
• Leadership spirit: you will be expected to think outside the box and provide a fresh perspective on the business
• English (Fluent), another EU language required
• Excel VBA and Python knowledge are advantageous
