What is the opportunity?

RBC Capital Markets is seeking energetic, bright and talented undergraduates for our Global Markets Summer Internship Program in Sydney which runs from late November to mid-February. RBC has constructed a 10-week summer internship program to provide you with the opportunities and professional development you need to turn those first steps into a rewarding career. Interns are given meaningful work and responsibilities, including goal setting, mentoring and a formal review process. Full consideration for a graduate position upon graduation is given to Summer Interns with expected start dates rolling into February of the following year.

What will you do?

Global Markets isn’t just a step forward in your career – it is a launch pad to the dynamic world of Origination, Research, Sales and Trading in ever changing markets. As part of our Global Markets team, you will gain valuable practical experience working across various asset classes inclusive of Equities, Fixed Income, Currencies and Central Funding on our trading floor. Interns will also gain valuable experience collaborating with Equity Research to understand market structure and strategies and gain exposure to a range of Debt Capital Markets, Securitization and Risk Solution transactions.

As an Intern at RBC Capital Markets, you will:

  • Work on real projects that provide hands-on experiences, deep insights into our business operations and valuable contacts

What do you need to succeed?

We are looking for candidates with agile intellect, strong numerical and analytical skills, an awareness of macroeconomic issues and a genuine interest in financial markets. Creativity, logic, interpersonal skills and drive all come into the equation. Candidates must be in their penultimate year of study and be Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents or eligible to work in Australia.
