Position Overview

We are seeking a highly accomplished and transformative Enterprise Architect with a strong emphasis on Machine Learning (ML) design, solutioning, and Gen AI to play a pivotal role in shaping the technological landscape of our organization. In this influential position, you will have the opportunity to be responsible for the organization's ML and Gen AI initiatives, drive innovation, and ensure that our solutions are not only innovative but also strategically aligned with our business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Architecture Leadership:

• Lead the development and evolution of our enterprise architecture strategy, ensuring it accommodates the dynamic nature of ML and Gen AI technologies.
• Collaborate closely with C suite executives, VPs, and other key partners to define and implement an architecture that positions Salesforce as a leader in the AI field.
• Prior experience in the above in a large enterprise company is needed to be successful in this role.

Innovation and Technology Alignment:

• Champion innovation by staying abreast of the latest advancements in ML, Gen AI, and related technologies, and proactively finding opportunities for their integration into our architecture.
• Extensively worked on AI research projects including a deep understanding of transformer models.
• Strong experience with model development, built ML frameworks to scale models from experimentation, training to production.
• Align technology choices with the company's long-term vision, ensuring that our architecture supports our strategic growth initiatives.

ML Solution Leadership:

• Develop architectural guidelines and standard processes for AI/ML model development, inference and training pipeline while working closely with the architecture team and the larger engineering organization.
• Take the helm in designing and implementing ML solutions, demonstrating your deep expertise to ensure the robustness, scalability, and accuracy of models.
• Collaborate with multi-functional teams to drive ML projects from concept to deployment, supervising model development, data pipelines, and deployment strategies.
• Work closely with product and engineering teams to discover AI/ML related reusable datasets, design patterns, components, libraries and infrastructure to help optimize cost and find multi-functional commonalities.
• Develop proof-of-concept models to find innovative solutions for business critical use cases.

Mentorship and Team Development:

• Play a critical role in the career growth of our Machine Learning Engineers (MLEs) and Data Scientists (DS) by providing mentorship, technical guidance, and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
• Cultivate a collaborative, high-performance environment where innovation and excellence thrive.

Strategic Decision-Making:

• Make informed architectural decisions regarding the utilization of internal ML platforms or the creation of custom solutions. Conduct thorough evaluations, taking into account factors like scalability, maintainability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Be a key influencer in technology selection, including cloud providers, ML frameworks, and Gen AI tools.

Gen AI Pioneering:

• Apply your architectural foresight to address the unique challenges and opportunities presented by Gen AI projects, pushing the boundaries of AI technology and applications.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of Gen AI into our product portfolio.
• Evaluate the latest AI research and provide expert guidance to the architecture and AI council to help them develop a comprehensive AI strategy that is aligned with the data, platform, governance, and cloud operations strategy.

Documentation and Communication:

• Maintain comprehensive documentation of architectural designs, principles, and standard processes, serving as a resource for the broader technical organization.
• Articulate complex architectural concepts and decisions to both technical and non-technical partners, fostering a shared understanding and consensus.

Risk Mitigation and Compliance:

• Proactively identify potential architectural risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, safeguarding the integrity and security of our ML and Gen AI solutions.
• Stay vigilant on regulatory developments in the AI space, ensuring our solutions remain aligned with industry standards and regulations.

Continuous Improvement and Research:

• Promote a culture of continuous improvement by regularly evaluating the effectiveness of our existing architectures and recommending enhancements.
• Collaborate with research teams to explore emerging technologies, ensuring our organization remains at the forefront of AI innovation.

Qualifications and Skills:
Our team of expert Enterprise Architects is seeking individuals who possess a unique blend of qualifications and skills to excel in the dynamic world of innovative technology, Salesforce, event-based integration, predictive machine learning, Generative AI, and Big Data.

Qualifications

• A related technical degree required.
• Proven experience as an Enterprise Architect or in a similar senior technical role.
• Track record of building large-scale innovative AI products and solutions.
• Strong knowledge of machine learning algorithms and predictive analytics.
• Hands on experience productionizing ML models (prototyping, training and serving) using ML frameworks such as AWS Sagemaker, Google Vertex etc.
• Strong familiarity with Generative AI concepts and technologies and understands the trade-offs of using different LLMs.
• Extensive hands-on experience in event-based integration using technologies like Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, or AWS EventBridge.
• Proficiency in Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Flink.
• Salesforce expertise, including Lightning, Apex, and custom development.
• Experience leading multi-functional AI architecture teams / center of excellence.
