The Transformation Data & Analytics (TD&A) team is made up of data scientists, engineers, and analysts who are dedicated to driving Salesforce’s revenue and margin growth. The TD&A team works with executives, product managers, designers, developers, user researchers, marketers, and sales strategy team members across all Cloud businesses to discover new opportunities for growth and optimization, drive data-informed strategy and create data product experiences and actionable insights that enable our stakeholders to maximize their productivity, efficiency, and impact.
Role Description
The Data & Analytics Transformation Technology team at Salesforce is seeking an innovative Decision Scientist to collaborate with business, engineering, and security leaders across the organization to deeply understand their business strategies, processes, and decision needs. In this role, you will combine analytics, machine learning, and business acumen to empower data-driven decision-making for your stakeholders. Responsibilities
Work with the Transformation Technology Product Manager to gather requirements, analyze data, and translate decisions into data product user stories for repeatable insights that provide accurate and timely information for strategic business decisions.
Translate data insights into actions and recommendations that will drive performance, productivity, engagement, and program effectiveness.
Influence stakeholders and enhance decision quality through compelling data storytelling and visualization.
Perform advanced statistical analysis to identify factors influencing productivity.
Provide actionable recommendations to enable our engineering and security teams to increase their productivity
Produce statistical and data analysis visuals (charts, graphs) and presentations to clearly and effectively communicate findings to internal collaborators including senior leaders.
Leverage data and analytical techniques (e.g. predictive modeling, causal inference, experimentation) to deliver impactful insights that inform key business decisions.
Continuously find ways to improve business outcomes through the ethical application of data science.
Work with structured, unstructured, transactional and real-time data sets from a variety of sources, to analyze usage and behavior patterns.
Work with the Transformation Technology Product Manager to design and implement replicable data acquisition and utilization processes.
Be responsible for data mining, data science, statistical analysis to support operational decision making and drive business intelligence (BI) insight.
Develop, validate, and test predictive models to be implemented as part of various internal Salesforce applications.
Leverage mathematical principles to identify and explain data
Design executable and scalable experiments to quantify the impact of the recommendations.
Analyze and maintain performance metrics to identify cause-effect relationships between initiatives/actions and user/employee behavioral changes and performance uplift.
Use analysis that might include (but not limited to): segmentation, A/B testing, advanced survey analysis, text mining, regressions and measurement sciences (causal inference, observational data analysis, bias mitigation, matching techniques etc.), sentiment, messaging, usage, and engagement.
Acquire, analyze, clean and structure data as an essential part of your daily responsibilities.
Collaborate with our core data science, machine learning engineering, data engineering teams to ensure integration and implementation of the algorithms you have developed in our production environment.
Job Requirements
BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering , Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Operations Research, Econometrics or equivalent/related degree.
Passion to lead technical research on bridging the understanding between business and data science.
2+ years experience in data science and machine learning, including designing, implementing, and driving data science projects.
Experience with statistical analytics and techniques such as recommendation systems, A/B testing, experiment design, causal inference, or quasi-experimental methods.
Experience with Python (NumPy, Pandas, Polars, TabPy, Plotly), R, SQL,Snowflake and Tableau
Ability to turn ideas into actionable designs and persuade collaborators to champion effective techniques.
Cross-functional collaboration skills and ability to communicate technical concepts to business stakeholders.
Strong verbal, written, presentation and influencing skills.
Intellectual curiosity, excellent problem solving and quantitative skills.
Ability to work effectively in an unstructured and fast-paced environment, and have a high degree of self-management with clear communication and commitment to delivery timelines.
Ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks in a highly dynamic environment with a result oriented mindset.
Proven interpersonal, communication and presentation skills – must be able to explain technical concepts and analysis implications clearly to a wide audience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face Transformers
Experience with cloud computing platforms

For Washington-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $130,000 to $130,000.Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
