We are looking for a seasoned, results-driven VP of Search Marketing to oversee Salesforce’s holistic search disciplines i.e. Search Engine Marketing (SEM) and Search Engine Optimization (SEO). As we aim to better engage and reach new and existing audiences, the VP of Search Marketing will lead the unified search team in orchestrating interlocked SEM and SEO strategies, establishing and optimizing search health across all product and global segments. This leader will act as the critical linchpin across the organization to ensure cohesive planning integration, strategic alignment, holistic governance, and continuous testing and optimization across both spectrums.
Reporting into the VP of Media Lab, this role's core responsibilities encompass devising, implementing, and fine-tuning data-driven SEM and SEO strategies that align seamlessly with our corporate objectives. By maintaining a symbiotic relationship between SEM and SEO teams, the VP of Search Marketing ensures a united front in our search strategy deployment.
This is a highly strategic and analytical leader that will successfully lead regular performance audits and analyses, and pinpoint areas for growth and optimization, playing a critical role in improving our brand and non-brand keyword strategy. The VP of Search Marketing oversees the testing and optimization of SEM and SEO initiatives, aiming for optimal efficiency and returns with adherence to the highest search standards and best practices.
The ideal candidate has proven B2B SaaS experience managing $30M+ SEM budget, accountable to $500M+ in pipeline and $100M+ in ACV spanning multiple segments, product lines, and geographies. Likewise this leader will have demonstrable experience successfully orchestrating multifaceted functional teams including technical SEO, content strategy, keyword research,
campaign management, analytics, and testing and optimization. This leader should demonstrate a deep understanding of SEO intricacies while also exhibiting strong people management skills to foster collaboration and innovation within the team.
This leader will be capable of setting a bold vision for search, creating a comprehensive strategy, executing with excellence, and using complex data to achieve success and foster an environment of continuous improvement.
Oversee the strategy, implementation, and optimization of comprehensive, data-driven SEM and SEO strategies that align with the company's business objectives.
Facilitate a harmonious and effective working relationship between the SEM and SEO strategies, ensuring cohesive user experience with scale and agility.
Lead regular audits and analyses of search performance, identifying opportunities for improvement and optimization.
Monitor and manage all aspects of search health, including but not limited to keyword strategy, bid management, technical SEO, and on-page/off-page optimization.
Oversee the testing and optimization of SEM and SEO tactics, ensuring the highest possible efficiency and return on investment.
Manage and ensure adherence to search best practices and governance structures, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Communicate effectively with various stakeholders about the company's search strategy, performance, and opportunities.
Stay up-to-date with the latest search trends, technologies, and best practices, and guide the company's search strategy accordingly.
10+ years proven experience in a similar role for B2B SaaS, with demonstrated success in managing both SEM and SEO.
Expert understanding of SEM and SEO best practices, tools, and technologies.
Ability to work cross-functionally and foster collaboration among teams.
Expertise with digital media analytics tools, data visualization as applied to performance marketing and analytics.
Excellent ability to convey complicated and nuanced insights in accessible language to relevant stakeholders.
Strong analytical skills, both in modeling and measurement
Familiarity and comfort with marketing initiatives and optimizing marketing campaigns
Strong time management and organizational skills
Strong communication/interpersonal skills
Ability to adapt to shifting priorities, requirements and timelines by utilizing problem-solving skills
Forward-thinking performance marketing strategist, up to speed on the latest trends in the industry
Proven in-house leadership abilities, capable of managing a team of at least 5 managers and individual contributors from the start
