The Global Safety & Security organization is charged with protecting the people, brand, business operations and property of Salesforce by delivering trusted, innovative and scalable safety and security programs. To accomplish this mission, we are seeking a Health & Safety Associate Manager. This position will report to the Manager of Health and Safety (Japan/ Korea) and be responsible for the execution of the health and safety programs in Japan and Korea in partnership with our key stakeholders. Position requires local, onsite presence in our Tokyo office 2-3 days per week.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage the health and safety compliance program in Japan/ Korea. This includes:

  • Compliance management - Identification, risk assessment, planning and execution of risk mitigation controls.

  • Conduct facility compliance inspections and audits with stakeholders to verify ongoing compliance with internal health & safety standards as well as all applicable local / regional regulatory requirements.

  • Participate in the investigation, follow up, and root-cause analysis of significant safety incidents.

  • Review and Develop local and global Health & Safety Standards and SOPs as needed.

  • Facilitate Health & Safety training and awareness sessions to all Japan/ Korea employees

  • Develop and Deliver New Hire Safety Induction Training

  • Provide H&S Support for all on campus and off campus events, as required.

  • Provide H&S training and resources for remote and flexible workers

  • Provide support to employees requiring Health and Safety assistance whilst traveling

  • Monitor and respond to emerging health threats, provide guidance to employees and leaders as needed

  • Support, guide and inform the Health Committee with their functions

  • Provide H&S advice and documentation as required.

    Coordinate the execution of the Emergency Response Team (First Aid and Warden) program. This includes:

  • Manage response to health & safety incidents.

  • Develop and review emergency response plans for each location

  • Develop and deliver internal emergency response team training or Manage the scheduling and logistics of third party emergency response team training (e.g. First Aid, CPR & AED certification courses)

  • Maintain the incident reporting management system for injury & illness

  • Collaborate with other key stakeholders in the maintenance of emergency response team membership levels

  • Coordinate necessary first aid and mental health first aid training for each location

  • Coordinate emergency response drills at key sites

  • Coordinate restocking of first aid kits and inspection of AEDs with stakeholders

  • Serve as the centerpiece of the health and safety employee engagement program, CAREforce, in Japan/ Korea. This includes:

  • Provide visible leadership in promoting a culture of preparedness and safety.

  • Develop and deliver guidance, resources and communications to promote safety

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Fluent in Japanese and English reading and writing, Korean desirable but not necessary

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • Overall experience of 5 + years in health, safety & preparedness program management or closely related services in the public or private sector.

  • Ability to communicate effectively and provide leadership during high stress situations.

  • Proficient in Google Suite

  • Experience in Slack, Quip

  • Experience working in a Health and Safety Senior Administrator, Consultant, Associate Manager, Manager position

  • Technical knowledge of all Health and Safety Laws and Regulations in Japan

  • Experience working across multiple disciplines and geographies

  • Familiarity with Salesforce and use of our business solutions
