The Data Product Manager is primarily a guide on internal data needs, translating them into prioritized product requirements, and working closely with data engineering to ensure the successful execution of the product roadmap within a fast paced agile product lifecycle.
As a Product Manager for the Salesforce Data & Analytics, you’ll be in charge of building a unified data and metrics layer that powers the Salesforce internal analytical platform.
The Salesforce internal data and analytical platform will provide business context and a single source of truth for data in Salesforce, enabling a flexible and governed place for our internal data users to create and lead metrics, conduct exploratory and predictive analyses, visualize insights, and build AI applications. You will collaborate with various data domain owners across Salesforce to build a Data Layer that enables internal analytical and AI use cases while working with architects and engineers to develop a scalable platform to help drive operational efficiency and ensure data security.
This role is best suited for strong, proactive Product Managers who thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and love working with the best SaaS technology team in the world.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to define product requirements and development plans.
Drive product development with teams of data engineers and architects, take ownership for successful delivery against goals, balancing trade offs, and completing commitments.
Engage directly with data users during pre-launch and post-launch to ensure the product will help them reach their desired business outcomes.
Track and analyze metrics that advise the success of products.
Integrate experimentation, user research, and analysis to improve engineer productivity and enhance user satisfaction.
Experience working with teams internationally.
Be the expert on data assets and applications.
5+ years of Product Management experience.
Proven experience in data-oriented, analytics, SaaS & B2B products.
Experience delivering successful data products. Understanding the technical architecture of highly scalable data and analytical products.
Experience in taking one or more products through the full product cycle, from conceptualization to launch.
Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment in different time zones.
Exceptional communication and presentation abilities. Proven track record to communicate complex concepts to a variety of audiences and collaborator types.
Exceptional organizational and analytical abilities.
A beginner approach with an entrepreneurial spirit, can implement and enact complex product initiatives.
Degree or equivalent relevant experience required. Experience will be evaluated based on the core proficiencies for the role.
Experience with building Business Intelligence or Data Analytics products and understanding their different layers.
Experience with tools we use every day:
Storage: Snowflake, AWS Storage Services (S3, RDS, Glacier, DynamoDB)
ETL/BI: Airflow, Tableau
Cloud Infrastructure: AWS Kinesis, Lambda, API Gateway, Terraform
Analytics: SQL, Sagemaker
Data governance and data management principles: data quality, metadata management, security, compliance
Experience with AI / GenAI / LLM technologies.
Experience working with an Engineering Team and in Agile methodology.
Analytical and strategic problem solver with excellent project management skills and attention to detail.
