The Salesforce Employee Relations (ER) COE’s core responsibility is to mitigate employment risk to Salesforce while providing a respectful employee experience. The ER team provides support, expertise, education and resources, enabling managers to expand capabilities, and improve employee experience and engagement. Primary areas of expertise: Workplace Investigations; Involuntary Separations; Mediation. We have an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Manager primarily passionate about workplace investigations.

Role Description:

The Employee Relations Senior Manager is an individual contributor role working within a centralized ER function, for the US and Canada regions. This role will have the ability to partner with broad lines of business while handling sophisticated investigations into policy violations and situations not in alignment with Salesforce values. The individual will engage with senior management within HR and the business to provide mentorship and influence key stakeholders about making decisions aligned with Salesforce culture. Investigations are often complex, high-risk and sensitive and requires demonstrating common practices and processes to ensure fair and consistent treatment / approach. Reports to the Director, Employee Relations.

Your Impact :

The ER Senior Manager works among expert, geographically-distributed ER professionals who are responsible for providing expertise and case management of ER issues, from initial intake to resolution, to a dedicated client group.

  • Conduct HR investigations including high risk/high profile executive investigations and escalations. Process includes: collecting and analyzing facts, applying relevant laws, policies and past practice to reach conclusions, recommend and influence management actions. May partner with internal Employment Attorneys and other internal investigative bodies, as vital.

  • Partner with other ER team members to discuss insights/approaches and make recommendations that align with our culture and values.

  • Combine critical thinking with shown operational execution while passionate about details and drives forward with core values, empathy, and inclusivity.

  • Partner with a varied community of team members at different levels within and outside of the ER / HR function.

  • Track record of achieving results in ambiguous situations and under pressure.

  • Operate and mentor with compassion and comfortable in the “gray” areas.

  • Collaborate and partner with HRBPs, ER leadership, internal Employment Attorneys, ER Performance Improvement team, HR partners, and HR Shared Services organizations to achieve high quality, seamless HR partnership.

  • Maintain required documentation, including intake and investigative notes, supporting documents and final reports.

  • Track, report and analyze case trends applying a Salesforce technology-based case management system.

  • Lead and participate in ER-related projects

Preferred Experience:

  • Strong communication, presentation and executive writing skills.

  • Demonstrated negotiation skills and ability to influence others.

  • Demonstrated ability to navigate successfully within ambiguity, multiple priorities and a constantly evolving environment.

  • Comfortable working in a high volume, fast-paced environment - preferably in a high growth technology company.

  • Ability to work independently to make decisions guided by policies, practices, procedures and business plan;Work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.

  • Uses standard processes and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve delivery of services.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 8-10+ years of broad HR Generalist knowledge and experience, with 5+ years of direct, highly-focused ER experience.

  • Experience working in a centralized ER model.
