Architect - Hyperforce Kubernetes Platform

Location: San Francisco, CA/ Bellevue, WA

Our team provides Kubernetes platform-as-a-service to other teams who are building microservices at Salesforce. Over the next year we’ll be expanding our Kubernetes footprint by 1000s of clusters. And you could be an instrumental piece in this transformation. As part of your job, you will be working on open source technologies like Kubernetes, Terraform, Argo and Spinnaker and will have the chance to contribute back and shape the future of these technologies.

We are at the forefront of cloud and container transformation for one of the largest SaaS companies and work on problems of unprecedented scale. We handle the platform that underlies Sales, Service, Commerce, Mulesoft and Tableau. There are critical challenges to be solved across the gamut of developer experience, runtime scale, cost to serve optimizations and availability.

Responsibilities:

As an Architect for the HKP team you will be responsible for the overall architecture, technical oversight and roadmap for handling Kubernetes clusters at scale. A large part of your job will also include evaluating and integrating open-source technologies into the HKP software stack. You will also get the opportunity to represent the team and company at open-source and public cloud conferences.

Required Skills:

• 5+ years experience with Kubernetes, Docker and public cloud technologies

• 15+ years hands on experience with coding in Java, Golang, C/C++.

• 5+ years experience with AWS services. Especially IAM and cloud networking

• Terraform, CI/CD services. eg. Jenkins, Argo, Spinnaker

• Observability tools. eg. Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, ElasticSearch, Argus

General Skills:

• Communicating technical design and architecture vision via written documentation

• Mentoring engineers and partnering with multiple teams

• Experience using Infrastructure as code

• Understanding of DevOps Principles

• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and adapt to shifting priorities

• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, with a strong ability to work effectively in a team environment.

For California-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $233,300 to $355,900.Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
