The IDE Experience Team in the Salesforce Developer Experience area is searching for an MTS (Member of Technical Staff) to join our team. We are a remote-first team building the Salesforce Extensions for VS Code to empower Salesforce Admins & Developers on the Salesforce Platform. Join this innovative team using Typescript, NodeJS, and Salesforce’s own AI Platform to deliver features like Einstein for Developers–our own AI-powered extension! If you’re passionate about working in open source using modern technologies to design and build an enhanced developer experience for our customers, this is the place to be :) We have a tight feedback loop with the community allowing us to iterate fast and deliver value.

Your Impact:

  • Implement, test, and deliver highly scalable products

  • Frequently deliver new VS Code Extension features to our developer ecosystem

  • Apply AI, Large Language Models (LLMs) to developer experiences

  • Operate effectively in the hybrid engineering model where engineers are encouraged to be able to craft and implement the vital work to ensure quality in their own code as well as other specialists'

  • Develop test strategies, design automation frameworks, write unit/functional tests to drive up code coverage and automation metrics.

Required skills:

  • 2+ years of professional software development experience

  • Proficiency and experience with at least one object oriented programming language (Java, Javascript/Typescript, C++, C#, Ruby, Python)

  • Validated familiarity of web technologies, such as JavaScript, CSS, HTML5, XML, TypeScript, JSON, and/or Ajax

  • Experience in automated testing including unit and functional testing using frameworks like Mocha or Jest

  • Experience working with a team using Git

  • Strong written and verbal skills

  • Ability and desire to work with customers to debug issues on any OS

Preferred Skills:

  • Project experience building NodeJS applications

  • Experience with VS Code IDE

  • Experience with Agile software development

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent field

  • Track record of being a top performer in current and past roles

For Colorado-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $111,400 to $153,300.

For Washington-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $122,600 to $168,700.

For California-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $133,800 to $183,900.Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
