What Your Job Will Be Like:

We are seeking a Data engineering professional to improve analytical capabilities which enable data-based decision-making.

Successful candidates will be able to engage with customers across Sandia Labs at various levels of the organization to help advance the AI/ML analytical capabilities related to performance analysis, data automation and predictive analysis.

On any given day, you may be called upon to:

  • Build and modify databases and database management systems connections to enable leadership in assessing organization performance

  • Find opportunities for advancement of analytical capabilities and craft plans for implementing recommended improvements

  • Partner across a multitude of functional areas to craft innovative AI/ML solutions

  • Communicate effectively and influentially to leadership using presentations, written analyses, concise reporting, and visualizations.

Salary Range:

$109,300 - $217,400

*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

Qualifications We Require:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, plus (5) years related experience; or a Master’s degree in a relevant field, plus (1) years related experience; with achievements that demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of the job. (Relevant fields may include STEM Degrees, Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Systems Engineering, Information Technology, or comparable)

  • The ability to acquire and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance.

Qualifications We Desire:

Ideally, we would like to see your background include some of the following:

  • Graduate degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or similar STEM discipline

  • Experience in data base management systems such as Oracle, Hive, MongoDB, Hadoop

  • Experience in designing databases to support business applications, ensuring system scalability, security, performance, and reliability.

  • Proficiency in statistical analysis languages, Object or component-oriented development software such as Python, R, JMP, MLflow, Matlab

  • Familiarity with Machine learning and deep learning, including libraries and frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, scikit-learn

  • Familiarity in Natural language processing frameworks and libraries

  • Ability to identify business problems or management objectives that can be addressed through data analysis

  • Critical thinking, synthesis and analytical skills

  • Ability to effectively communicate AI/ML analyses to non-technical audiences

  • Experience working within the NNSA complex

  • Ability to track, analyze, and identify trends in data and provide effective solutions

  • Experience in facilitating teams preparing procedures, reports, and presentations and researching and obtaining information

  • Superb communication, collaboration, and people skills with proven ability to perform effectively in a teaming environment

  • Experience building and maintaining diverse, teaming relationships at all levels of internal and external organizations.

  • The ability to model behaviors that reflect Sandia’s core values

  • Active DOE Q or DoD TS Security Clearance.

About Our Team:

The Performance Analytics Department is the centralized hub for Sandia’s corporate level measures, metrics, dashboards and AI/ML tools. Our focus is to provide Sandia and its leadership with effective visualization and communication of both information and analytic results to support data-driven decisions. We are also responsible for partnering with all Sandia entities to advance their measures and metrics, as well as the development of institutional scorecard and dashboard frameworks.
