As the Associate, Investment Counsel, you are responsible for providing high level support to senior members of the 1832 Asset Management portfolio management team. You are responsible for proactively and professionally providing administrative assistance and ongoing support to their assigned team members.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will be:

• Generating and printing daily reports from Bloomberg, MPower, Charles River, and other platforms
• Classifying securities accurately based on report data.
• Preparing comparison reports and charts as needed.
• Maintaining and updating executive contact databases.
• Respond, where appropriate, to incoming emails on behalf of executives.
• Compile research and data gathering as required.
• Providing administrative support, including phone messages, calendar management, conference calls, scanning, faxing, and photocopying.
• Coordinating meetings and managing complex calendar schedules for the department; greeting guests and advising attendees.
• Arranging extensive local and international travel.
• Processing expenses and invoices for PMs and Analysts, including travel costs, association dues, conference registrations, and subscriptions.
• Organizing and maintaining filing systems in PM offices.
• Manage time and attendance for the team.
• Locate, format and print presentations as required.
• Assisting executives with personal administrative requests (e.g., licensing, passports, visas, reservations)
• Accountable for mail and courier preparation, distribution and delivery.
• Responding promptly and professionally to internal and external inquiries.
• Ensuring exceptional service quality for internal and external clients.
• Handling vendor requests and liaising with internal and external stakeholder
• Acting as backup for other Associates as needed.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:

• College Diploma in a relevant discipline combined with progressively responsible administrative experience or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent.
• Minimum two years Investment Management or Financial Services experience.
• Excellent mathematical skills – extremely detailed oriented to analyze data and verify calculations
• IFIC and /or CSC certification strongly preferred.
• Expert level PC skills (MS Office: Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint; Adobe Acrobat, web browsers) with an ability to become familiar with firm-specific programs and software
• Familiarity with virtual conference applications: MS Teams, Skype, Zoom
• Excellent communication skills; communicate in a variety of mediums.
• Must exhibit strong teamwork skills; willing to continuously and proactively collaborate, share and seek information and guidance.
• Proven ability to take initiative and work independently in a high performing, deadline driven environment.
