Purpose
Contributes to the overall success of the Global Technology & Engineering Platform Services in Canada and globally ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures that all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
Accountabilities
• Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
• Oversight of Vulnerabilities and Patching cadences for Infrastructure and Application servers.
• Collection and Analysis of Critical Application Assets remediation efforts.
• Analyzing Vulnerability and remediation data and creates reporting dashboards.
• Manage Vulnerability SQL Server Reporting databases.
• Configure and maintain Vulnerability Reporting database servers and processes
• Monitor SQL Server Reporting database health and performance, ensuring high levels of performance, availability, sustainability and security.
• Analyzing, solving and correcting SQL Server Reporting databases issues. Providing suggestions for solutions.
• Develop ETL process using MS SQL and SSIS, refining and automating regular processes, tracking issues, and documenting changes.
• Identifying and articulating the means to resolution / remediation of servers as part of the contribution to BNS Security Risk Index scores.
• Generating reports attesting to remediation findings.
• Generating detailed tracking reports of server assets that exceed defined BNS policy thresholds.
• Identify IT and Business owner mappings to server assets.
• Able to work in both independent and team environment.
• Collaborate effectively with multi-functional teams and Technology partners to advance remediation activities
• Contribute to and be a part of a collaborative team environment
• Review performance reports, assist with the weekly, monthly reporting and ensure timely resolution of issues.
• Develop and produce professional spreadsheets from different data sources.
• Investigate using available tools and countermeasures to remedy the detected vulnerabilities and recommend solutions and best practices.
• Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
• Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Dimensions
• Contributing to the vulnerability remediation of 38,000 servers. Focusing on Mission Critical and zero-day vulnerabilities that potentially place the bank at risk.
Education / Experience
• Superior English written and verbal communications with good presentation skills and collaborative orientation skillset B2
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• 1-3 years of experience in database administration or in a similar role.
• Experience in database backup, disaster recovery planning, performance optimization and data security.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to provide quick solutions to issues.
• Outstanding communication and collaboration skills to work in a team environment.
• Ability to use a scripting language (like Python or Peri) to automate database administration tasks.
• Advanced Excel Skills
• Advanced ability to analyze data and assess vulnerabilities in infrastructure (software, hardware, networks)
• Advanced Technical Portfolio Management and follow up skills
• Highly familiar with Network and Operational System version and protocols (all O/S) Technical Background
• Highly familiar with or experienced in Vulnerability Management/Cybersecurity & Server compliance
• Experience in Vulnerability Management Tool sets (Tenable) equating to a strong working knowledge of information security principles and security operations
• Advanced PowerPoint and presentation skills
• Strong Power BI knowledge and experience
• Strong ServiceNow knowledge [ticketing tools]
• Exacting in following procedural documents
• Strong people management and time management abilities
