Purpose:
Leads and oversees Regulatory and Business Initiatives in Canada ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
What You’ll Do:
- Champion a customer-focused culture within your team to strengthen client relationships and leverage the Bank’s broader capabilities, systems, and expertise
- Lead end-to-end planning and delivery of assigned project(s) including ideation / interpretation of business needs, business case drafting and submission, establish project governance, implementation plan, budgeting and resource planning, and eventual transition to BAU
- Effectively manage risks and issues, support business analysts and project control officers, and coordinate across multiple delivery teams and key stakeholders across both business and technology groups
- Independently oversee project governance and provide regular status updates to senior leadership, exercising judgement based on complexity of the situation and providing informed recommendations for management decision making
- Provide a weekly project coordinator function as required for portfolio leader, including meeting minutes, presentation creation and/or updates, update project plans, key milestones, risk and decisions in the relevant systems. Integrate the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture into daily decision-making and activities
- Foster operational excellence by ensuring adherence to business controls and compliance frameworks, including those related to operational risk, regulatory compliance, AML/ATF, and conduct risk
- Responsible for interactions with all key stakeholders from business, risk, operations & technology teams including stakeholders in different geographic locations.
- Manage local projects or contribute to global initiatives, providing senior-level business analysis where needed
- Own discrete workstreams and collaborate across teams to drive outcomes
- Represent the team at trade association and peer bank meetings related to regulatory topics, sharing insights with the Regulatory and Business Initiatives Group (RBI)
- Contribute to RBI’s regulatory capital initiatives, project best practices, and overall team responsibilities
- Identify and share emerging regulatory developments and strategic insights to help shape RBI’s priorities
What You'll Bring:
- Experience in project management or business analysis, with a track record of delivering results
- Strong background in financial management or business analysis
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks, compliance, payments or capital markets—experience in these areas is preferred
- Knowledge of Capital Markets, including major asset classes and their associated trade life cycles
Work Arrangement:
This position is currently an onsite role, with the expectation that you will work 4-5 days a week in the office. Please note that this is subject to change based on the needs of the business.
