Purpose
Contributes to the overall success of the Equities Global Knowledge Center (GKC) within the Global Investment Solutions (GIS) group and the office of the Global Wealth Management Chief Investment Officer by ensuring specific individual goals are accomplished in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities comply with governing regulations and internal policies and procedures.
Contributes to a team responsible for making equity recommendations and the performance of the GIS equity guided portfolios. Areas of focus may include Canadian, U.S., or international equities. Additionally, responsible for supporting the operational needs of all the GKC’s, including through the publication and dissemination of the group’s publications.
Accountabilities
• Contribute to a customer focused culture by deepening client and partner relationships.
• Support the Equity GKC’s sector coverage teams by providing research coverage and recommendations on equities consistent with GIS’s investment style and process.
• Contribute to the creation, review, and delivery of regular communications, research reports, educational material and ad-hoc support on coverage sectors and equities for relationship manager partners and clients.
• Assist senior Equity GKC members with timely reporting across all mandates.
• Work closely with the broader GIS team on the creation and dissemination of impactful materials such as brochures, podcasts, videos and online publications as the primary contact for the group’s operational needs.
• Respond to inquiries and requests for support from relationship managers, clients, and bank partners, balancing the complexity of the ask with the value delivered.
• Support relationship managers with accessing the relevant materials to meet their clients’ needs as the primary individual responsible for oversight of the group’s website and Equities GKC’s research portal.
• Continually deepen knowledge on coverage sectors, equities, and markets by participating in internal investment meetings.
• Establish close working relationships with relationship managers and other bank partners, actively soliciting feedback on existing equity GPs and support materials.
• Support business development activities by preparing presentations and other related material for relationship managers and other bank partners.
• Execute on special projects as they arise.
• Champion a strong and effective team environment by proactively contributing to team goals.
• Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
Education / Experience
• 1+ years of experience working in capital markets/financial services industry, with an undergraduate degree in finance, business, economics, or equivalent work experience.
• Progress towards a CFA designation is an asset.
• Knowledge of financial markets and investment process / strategy and positioning.
• Persuasive communication skills, including the ability to build credibility and trust with colleagues and clients and communicate ideas effectively.
• Strong writing skills with demonstrated experience producing a range of content.
• Analytical background with experience sourcing and distilling financial data from multiple sources to deliver timely insights.
• Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, global environment and to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
• Self-starter with proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Working knowledge of Factset, Bloomberg, and Microsoft Office tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Experience with BlueMatrix is an asset.
The incumbent for this role can be located in Toronto, Mexico, Chile, or Peru.
