Overview:

Multinational Coverage (MNC) is a key growth pillar of Scotiabank’s refreshed strategy, which entails the delivery of consistent, in depth and dedicated local coverage across Scotiabank’s global footprint with the goal to deepen our client relationships.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing, fast-paced and dynamic team within the global Multinationals platform. In partnership with the Parent Account Managers (PAM) and local product partners, the Associate Director will manage the relationship of U.S. subsidiaries corporates while also supporting the broader U.S. senior and junior teams.

What You’ll Do

  • Primary responsibility of developing fulsome client relationships and closely collaborating with products partners in Global Transaction Banking, Markets and Investment Banking in the U.S. market
  • Work collaboratively with the senior team in the U.S., country teams, and key internal stakeholders across Scotiabank’s global footprint to deliver the enhanced Multinationals value proposition to our clients
  • Support Parent Account Manager’s (PAMs) globally and the senior team in the U.S. in developing and managing holistic global account plans and executing on local and global multi-product plans to grow the global relationship of our MNCs
  • Champion a client centric culture and leverage Scotiabank’s global and in-country footprint and systems, and product knowledge to grow client revenue and primacy.
  • Build strong relationships and partner effectively with key stakeholders across Scotiabank’s various lines of business and around the globe.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of Scotiabank's local and global platform, product capabilities, operational processes, risk appetite and risk culture
  • Assist in portfolio management including preparing pitch books, credit write ups (for non-lending and lending products), and deal execution oversight
  • Assist with the framework set up for the client portfolio, create templates for analysis, perform due diligence and streamline operations across the MNC portfolio
  • Maintain reporting profitability metrics and perform analysis on client engagement and share of wallet
  • Provide mentorship and assistance to the junior team with special projects and complex transactions, by providing technical support and expertise in structuring, negotiation and execution of a wide range of transactions

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Business, Finance, Math, Engineering, Economics, Science or Technology
  • 7+ years of experience in Corporate Banking Relationship Management, Investment Banking and/ or Global Transaction Banking
  • Knowledge of non-lending products including Global Transaction Banking, Foreign Exchange, Risk Solutions, Project Finance, Debt Capital Markets, Equity Capital Markets and USPP
  • History of managing junior teams, demonstrating excellence in working effectively as an individual and as part of a team
  • Strong interest in liaising with colleagues across different jurisdictions and product groups
  • Positive, entrepreneurial, and collaborative approach
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
