Purpose
The Strategic Portfolio Governance team, part of the Portfolio Management Office reporting to the SVP & COO of International Banking (IB), plays a critical role in enabling governance excellence and portfolio integrity across IB’s investment initiatives. As Senior Manager, Portfolio Governance, the incumbent will lead governance processes, committee deliverables, and operational standards that ensure alignment with IB’s strategic priorities and enterprise frameworks. This role acts as a trusted partner to the Director, Strategic Governance and supports executive decision-making through robust governance practices, financial oversight, and stakeholder engagement.
What You’ll Do:
Governance Leadership
- Support the Director in implementing governance frameworks for IB’s Strategic Portfolio and non-SIP initiatives, ensuring compliance with enterprise standards.
- Maintain governance integrity by overseeing metadata, financials, and documentation for portfolio initiatives.
- Drive operational excellence by continuously optimizing governance processes and tools.
Committee & Stakeholder Engagement
- Coordinate and prepare governance materials for IB Resource Allocation Committees (RAC) and other executive forums.
- Act as a liaison with divisional and country teams to ensure governance standards are applied consistently across regions.
- Provide clear, concise updates and recommendations to executive leadership on governance matters.
Portfolio Oversight, Financial Linkage & Reporting
- Supervise and advise on in-country expenses and financials, ensuring alignment with IB governance standards.
- Guide countries on linking their portfolio management plans to the Bank’s overall financial plan, supporting affordability and prioritization decisions.
- Support recurring reviews of portfolio health, risks, and dependencies, ensuring governance insights inform prioritization and decision-making.
- Deliver monthly/quarterly governance reporting in various formats (PowerPoint, Excel, Power BI).
Risk & culture
- Champion risk awareness and ensure governance processes comply with operational risk, regulatory requirements, AML/ATF, and conduct risk frameworks.
- Communicate governance principles effectively across teams and stakeholders.

- Support team engagement and continuous improvement initiatives.
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Business Administration, Accounting, Engineering, or related field.
- CA, CFA, CPA, MBA, or equivalent designation is an asset.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in financial analysis, strategic planning, or investment portfolio management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with advanced financial acumen.
- Strong knowledge of governance frameworks, portfolio management methodologies, and operational risk practices.
- Proven ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships and communicate effectively across cultures and languages (English and Spanish required).
- Experience with PPM, SmartStream, and Power BI is an asset.
- Strong project management and organizational skills in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
