Purpose
The Senior Manager, Data Change & Intelligent Automation, contributes to the success of the High Value Payments Modernization Program by leading and governing data related change initiatives, including the design and application of advanced analytics and LLM based agent capabilities to augment processing, analysis, risk identification, and decision support across payment platforms, accounting flows, and downstream consumers.
This role is a key member of the central Change function, accountable for ensuring that data impacts, dependencies, controls, and migration risks are fully identified, assessed, structured, and managed as part of the modernization of high value payment systems, including replacement of legacy payment engines and accounting platforms. The incumbent ensures that intelligent automation and agent based capabilities are applied responsibly, aligned to enterprise strategies, regulatory expectations, and internal control standards, while enabling safe, scalable delivery of target state payment capabilities.
Contributes to the overall success of Global Transaction Banking globally, ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensure all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
What you will be doing:
- Leads data change strategy and execution across the High Value Payments modernization portfolio, including platform migration, data model evolution, and downstream impact management.
- Owns end‑to‑end data impact assessments spanning accounting, settlement, reconciliation, reporting, risk, finance, treasury, and regulatory consumers.
- Oversees data migration, cutover, and parallel‑run readiness, ensuring reconciliation, balancing, and control frameworks are clearly defined, validated, and auditable.
- Identifies, designs, and governs applied use cases for LLM‑based agents and advanced analytics to augment data processing, analysis, reconciliation, exception management, lineage assessment, and risk detection.
- Partners with Technology, Data, and Architecture teams to ensure agent‑based solutions are secure, explainable, controlled, and fit for regulated banking environments.
- Ensures LLM‑enabled capabilities support—not replace—well‑defined business rules, controls frameworks, and human accountability.
- Embeds model risk, data provenance, access controls, and usage guardrails into the design and deployment of intelligent automation solutions.
- Partners with Business, Operations, Technology, Finance, Treasury, Risk, Compliance, and Innovation teams to ensure data lineage, integrity, and control requirements are embedded in target‑state designs.
- Translates complex data, automation, and technical concepts into clear business, risk, and control narratives for senior stakeholders.
- Engages internal stakeholders to build credibility, alignment, and collaboration for data and automation strategies across organization.
- Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

What you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
- 7–10 years of experience in payments, banking operations, data change, transformation, or large‑scale technology programs.
- Strong understanding of high value payments processing, including wires, settlement, clearing, and accounting flows.
- Proven experience managing data impacts, complex system migrations or platform replacements.
- Solid knowledge of accounting, reconciliation, and control frameworks within a banking environment.
- Experience designing or governing LLM‑based solutions, analytics platforms, or automation capabilities for applied business use is a strong asset.
- Strong documentation, governance, and stakeholder management discipline.
Working Arrangement:
- This position is currently an on site role, with the expectation that you will work 4 days a week in the office. Please note that this is subject to change based on the needs of the business.
- Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence. Regular travel based on business need will be required between our Toronto and Scarborough offices
