Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be Singapore-based, reporting directly to the Global Head of EM Strategy based in London.
His/her key responsibilities will be to:
- Economic and financial research & analysis on India and South-east Asia local markets(SGD, IND, THB, IDR and PHP), providing in-depth views on the macro-economic, social, and political developments and market strategies for local currencies, local rates, and bonds.
- Working collaboratively with SG economists and strategists covering Asia and other EM economies.
- Preparation of written documents to communicate the findings to clients.
- Marketing: presentations and meetings with internal and external clients.
- Press contacts, as approved by Management and Communications.
- Analyse the economic, political, and policy fundamentals of Asian markets under coverage, and use these to help the team formulate a perspective on valuations for local assets within the region.
- Develop and present trade ideas (both tactical and strategic) based on a variety of frameworks (e.g. macro / fundamental / technical / valuations-driven / forecasting models).
- Advise SG trading functions on market developments and views on financial markets to enhance risk management.
- Advise external clients on FX and interest rate markets along with general macroeconomic developments to assist them in generating investment returns.
- Provide value-added analyses, thereby raising SG’s global profile and strengthening relationships with clients.
- Identify existing gaps in existing Asia research offering and innovate ways to close those gaps and strengthen SG’s research offering.
- Timely publication of research and of contributions to team / cross-asset projects.
- Work with and help develop more junior members of the team – if available.
- Collaborate with colleagues across SG business lines, while upholding the highest standards of professional conduct.
