Research Associate - US Biopharma & Biotechnology
Societe Generale
Responsibilities
We are looking for a Research Associate to join the New York office of Bernstein’s premier US Biopharma and Biotechnology Equity Research teams in New York. If you have a passion for research and are interested in building a long-term career in the investing world, there’s no better place to start than Bernstein. We seek candidates who love to solve problems, analyze data, and are passionate about in-depth fundamental analysis. We offer a unique opportunity to become an industry expert as you work alongside a seasoned veteran who will mentor and develop you.
Our Research Associates play an important role in producing the research Bernstein is famous for: unbiased, thematic, collaborative, data-driven, and always differentiated. You will develop relationships across the investing community and over time become a thought partner for our clients. You will work closely with your team but come to have a high degree of autonomy and independence.
As a Research Associate, you will:
· Develop sector expertise working with a Senior Analyst who is a seasoned industry expert
· Become highly proficient at in-depth analysis of your companies, stocks and industry themes
· Author written research that is famous for its deep industry insights and analytical rigor
· Become adept at financial forecasting, including building detailed forward-looking models
· Build strong relationships across the investing community, including our sales and trading teams and institutional clients
· Build a network within your industry including senior management of your companies
We have an outstanding Associate program and make a strong commitment to your development. Our culture is intellectually rigorous, but it is also very collegial and fun. We have robust learning and development programs as well as annual offsite events. We offer a flexible work schedule, but our in-office environment is very active. Our Associates are highly involved in (and often lead) our firm’s cultural initiatives, ranging from health & wellness, community service, mentoring, employee resource groups, social events, and Associate leadership.
If you love solving problems and analyzing data, Bernstein could be a great fit for you. We provide an intellectually challenging but supportive environment for careers in investment research. These are typically three-to-five-year positions with outstanding growth potential. Our Associate positions have historically been excellent platforms for advancement to Senior Research Associate roles, while many Associates go on to graduate school, or to successful investing careers at our clients.
The role is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and includes a competitive benefits package including 401(k) plan with company match, Medical/Dental/Vision, and other benefits for fertility, wellness, student loans and commuters.
